Indeed. As much as I respect Ving Rhames as an actor, I would love to know just what the folks at the USA Network were smoking when they cast him as Kojak. I always considered his Greek ethnicity much more noteworthy than his bald head. Nia Vardalos might have made a better choice.

Is Depp still scheduled to play Tonto in a "Lone Ranger" remake? THAT one made me shudder. I understand that Depp has SOME Native American ancestry, but I seriously doubt that he can come close to recreating the dignity and regal bearing of Jay Silverheels. Personally, I thought that Adam Beach (Law & Order: SVU) would be able to do a credible job.

I have been catching the original episodes of "The Outer Limits" on late-night TV; they were dark and disturbing, but FAR more often than not ended on a note of HOPE. Compare this with the revival from a few years back. FAR more often they had a pessimistic message - as I recall, the series finale concluded with the destruction of the Earth.
