I love Burn Notice and I am terrified by the path our country is taking.

In my youth I was very pro gun control. I marched in the marches and spouted the talking points. Then I moved to England and spent 10 years observing those proper gun hating Brits (and the National Health, but don’t even get me started on THAT). While I lived there I saw the reports of a man going on a stabbing rampage in a childrens’ school. I started thinking, maybe a gun could’ve stopped this guy….

Now I live in California and I am growing more worried with each passing day. Obama wants to digitalize medical records – all the better to pull “joe the plumber” type smears to the dissenting. The economy is in the toilet and taxes are rising. Unemployment is at incredible levels and they are talking of closing prisons and releasing prisoners. Undocumented aliens are given sanctuary ( I am latina, I have nothing against them wanting to improve their lot, but I want them to do it legally, as my parents did), crime is ridiculous, and if The Big One (earthquake) we have been dreading hits it could take up to 4 months to repair the water lines in some parts of this sprawling city. CAN YOU IMAGINE this scenario??? People desperate for water and full of fear are going to make Katrina look like a fire drill. I feel like we are sitting ducks for another terrorist strike.

I intend to buy a gun.

My son is old enough to handle a weapon and I am single, renting (hey, where’s MY bailout?) in a “safe neighborhood”, where I know almost none of my neighbors. So I’ve contacted some local gun stores and guess what? I can’t find the XD40 I seek. I can’t find hardly ANYTHING. I’m beginning to think a gun show will be my only option, and after reading the prior comments I now fear I am going to have to camp out the night before…..
But there may be some real CHANGE in the air – yesterday I visited my chiropractor, a big Obamacon who had shrieked about his idol for months leading up to the election, and defended his recent passage of the Stimulus pkg no one really read. I had asked him (gently, because I don’t argue with people cracking my spine)“don’t you think, just maybe, the American people should have been able to see the details before forking over our hard earned…”
“NO!” he’d shouted. “Most of us couldn’t handle knowing what Obama’s people know…”

That was weeks ago. Yesterday the doc told me he’s buying a gun, because he hears they are getting harder to obtain and he wants to be able to protect his family, just in case. He’s broken hearted because he’s just figured out that if Obama’s fiscal changes go through he’s going to have to lay off three staffers. “I don’t know what He’s doing,” he whispered. “I didn’t know He was going to do this..”.

“Didn’t you read the blogs?” I laughed. He told me he doesn’ t go online much. Maybe he should.

I can't make it through 10 minutes of SNL. Snide mockery has become the only humor lefties can manage. Cruelty is FUNNY to them (witness the popularity of mean girls Chelsea Handler and that redhead who "loves her gays"!). They don't dare satirize their people - they'd rather make hay out of a minor republican mistep for 7 minutes. These are the same people who think criticizing christianity is "brave" but don't have the balls to niggle radical islam.
