You're Not My Real Dad.com : RIAA Stops Mass Lawsuits

Well, I mean, it's their job to stop illegal downloading. They have to try to stop it save for a massive, massive overhaul of how profits are distributed in the music industry (which I guess isn't necessarily very far off), so in that regard, they'll always be douche bags. I'm just glad they're no longer creating lawsuits against dead people and little girls.

You're Not My Real Dad.com : I'm Fucking Obama-Hillary's take on Sarah Silverman

In that regard, note how the internet has essentially opened up our minds to entirely new methods of thinking. Then, think about what those that have had this their entire lives are going to do with that. The kids being born right now or in the past few years who have had this internet for their entire lives are going to interpret the internet in an entirely new way, going so many new/different directions with it. We still have SO far to go as a society. It opens up a lot of doors technologically and is a nice, optimistic alternative to a lot of other ways of thinking. My expository writing class is all about how cognitive and societal development is based around the technology of the time and I love it. I have to write a 10 page paper on how something like Google or file sharing or texting or mass digitalization can advance our society and what it means for democracy.

You're Not My Real Dad.com : President Obama

That's something that, simply by living in California, we are for the most part not shown: lots of middle America is extreme. I mean, I'm at a college campus so it isn't SO bad, but in Oklahoma I have encountered so many people that will admit to being racist. 5 or so people on my floor alone aren't voting for Obama SIMPLY because he's black. Lots are grossly racist and homophobic. I'm sure that a lot of people wouldn't believe it, but the people in that video exist all over. Outside of California and New England and a few others, of course.

Fucking-- the best television show ever. I'm in the middle of watching this season for the second time right now, I love it. There's another part, I don't remember what episode, where Clay Davis drags it out for five seconds and I look forward to that each day.
I was never happy with Azureus, but I'd never used Transmission. I'm interested to hear how it compares. On one of the more boring days in Oklahoma, I'm going to do a massive overhaul of everything and get it all personalized and such. I'm just not really sure where to start..

You're Not My Real Dad.com : Why are we happy? Why aren't we happy?

Davey, have you read Man's Search for Meaning by Victor Frankle? He was a neuroscientist at University of Vienna before he died. He wrote it about his time spent in Auschwitz in a concentration camp, and how he managed to create a type of therapy that basically promotes the individual being responsible for his own happiness. That the reason man lives his life is for some individual meaning, defined by him and him alone, and without that there is nothing. I mean, the big existential crisis is "why are we here nothing we do matters we're just going to die i hate suffering" etc, and Frankle takes that and says that yes, there is suffering in the world, but once we find meaning through that suffering we can grow from it and become a better version of ourselves. It's a really quick read--only a couple hundred quick pages. I really recommend it. the first half is his account of the concentration camp and the second is all about logotherapy, this idea he had. Well, maybe not his idea, but his application of the idea.
