I saw the movie last weekend and having read the book was quite pleased with part 1. The movie was able to capture the theme of the book even though the book itself delved much deeper into the various characters lives, personalities and thought processes.

Who is John Galt?

Let me get this straight--
Unions have the right to strike in order to COERCE and RETALIATE against employers to strengthen their hand in negotiating but the EMPLOYERs who provide the JOBS and BENEFITS to said striking employees have no rights whatsoever to use any leverage to bolster its negotiating position--

In other words, the employer who provides the jobs and benefits along with all the risk of millions, perhaps billions in assets, must stand still and allow the unions to beat it ruthlessly about the head and shoulders while asking;
"please sirs, may I have some more?"

I saw it yesterday (4/16) at Medlock Bridge in Duluth (Atlanta), GA and it was so well done that the 1hr 37min flew by and left me wanting more.

My girlfriend and I stopped at the Tilted Kilt restaurant out in front of the theatre before the 1pm showing and I asked to be seated and served quickly because I wanted to get there early and not seated after the show began.

To my amazement the young, seductively dressed waitress came to our table and aked "So your going to the 1pm showing of Atlas Shrugged? I'm jealous!!. She said the shows were sold out for the first several nights and people were coming in to eat and see the movie from all over central Georgia.

It just seemed kind of odd to see this sexy, youthful, carefree type of individual take notice of the movie-- just s0mething I wasn't expecting.

I will definately see it again in the theatre and as someone who NEVER buys videos/DVDs--I will buy this movie and watch it a few more times!!!!

The critics are giving Atlas Shrugged Part 1 the State Science Institute/Rearden Steel propaganda business. Calling it's production and entertainment value into question to sway public opinion on the movie and to keep people from taking the time to see the movie.

You just have to get your friends, neighbors and co-workers to see the movie and don't worry about what the hack, left wing media critics have to say.

1) The only people worried about a government shutdown is the media and the politicians-- what does that tell you?

2) Shut the damn thing down--I say there is too much goverment if you think you cannot function without it.

3) They may be afraid if they shut it down-- no one will notice. Half of all government workers sit around with their thumb up their ass and the other half supervise the insertion.

Mitchell's law is similar to the "Law of Whack-a-Mole Economics". The government distorts the economy by putting in place regulations that are designed to fix one problem and just create more, which of course must be fixed by additional regulations which distorts the economy in another way which much be fixed by more regulation , etc, etc, ect.
