Wrong "p" word. It's called "parallelism" and in rhetoric it can be used to enhance an argument. In this case, it serves to point out the weakness of the original argument (yours). If the opposition can say the same thing, changing only the names, then it's not a very effective argument to begin with.

If you don't have something nice to say, at least say something constructive.

Your post says a lot about you Mik. You are angry, hopeless... with a need to lash out at someone else to blame your problems on. So you use conservatives as a scapegoat, and the commentors on this thread because we're handy. I hope all of your posts are not as desperate as this one, but it wouldn't surprise me. People rarely surprise me on this list.

At one of my meetings at work, my immediate supervisor offerred this gem:

"If you don't have anything nice to say, at least be constructive." Since he's too late to profit from any constructive criticism, I guess I'll bite my tongue too.

Back in 9th grade, my English teacher had "Extemporaneoud Tuesdays." On Tuesdays, he'd put a topic on the board and the students would have 10 minutes to come up with a 5 minute speech on the subject. Af ew students would be selected to give their speeches to the class--the only notes allowed were 10 words. Shortly into this exercise, the students realized that the core of the speech doesn't need to be written down. One should be able to do that off the cuff. The notes are for interesting phrases, details, or any other stuff that may be forgotten.

It was GI green, and I'm pretty sure the factories in the game made tanks and b-17s, not priuses.

In the edition of Axis and Allies that my friend had (circa 80s, 90s?), the Japanese forces were represented by yellow pieces. No lie.

For the curious, Russia was red, Germany black, and America was green.

That's the $64,000 question. Maybe they can raid the WWE? I don't watch Psych--can anyone tell me how John Cena did?
