Well, if people like Rep. Bachmann and others don't stand up and challenge this, if you think ACORN's voter registration shenanigans are bad, wait 'til they create more seats in Congress out of thin air by skewing the census. I've twittered and posted this question to several people and forums and nobody has come up with a reason why my observation is wrong. Please ask your reps in congress about this and ask them to stand up and challenge it!

Folks: Article 1, Section 2, Part 3 of the Constitution reads: "...and within every subsequent term of ten years, in such MANNER as they shall by law direct." (my CAPS) If "they", being the Congress, by law directs the "manner" (defined as being the way or method of doing)... answer me this: How can the White House take the Census "in-house", give it to the President's Chief of Staff (Rahm Emmanuel), and then use ACORN to conduct the census, IF CONGRESS HAS NOT PASSED ANY LAW TO SUCH EFFECT? Surprise! Another example of the Constitution being discarded and the so-called "Representatives" not even knowing what they are in charge of. Am I wrong on this? If so, how?

Just because he says he won't try ban the weapon, doesn't mean he won't try to tax the hell out of the ammo. Even though he appears to be backing down, we must remain vigilant. The second amendment is the ultimate check on the governement. The people can't be subjected to tyranny by physical means as long as it remains. If you haven't already, consider joining the NRA. You don't have to own a weapon, and they send you a great magazine - America's 1st Freedom - which deals with legislative issues.

There was a great call to Glenn's show today from a guy in Ohio who got laid off and now he can see why people try to stay on the dole. His healthcare expenses were lower, he gets a check every week and he doesn't have to do anything for it. He said that he could find a job, but it would mean lower pay, no insurance, etc... This is the plan... make life better for those who are not working than it was when they were working and tax the bat-snot out of the rest of us who are still working. They will vote for the party that promises the most entitlements. The ONLY way out is to ALL demand less spending across the board. This will mean that we have to do without for a while, and some will lose their jobs, but we will be virtual slaves for generations to come if we don't turn it around soon.

So much energy is wasted here debating principle #2! It's very simple... as long as you agree with 7 of the 9, then we share common ground. If you don't agree with #2, then that is fine. Nobody is trying to force religion on you. And if you agree with #2, then that is fine also. Enjoy the fellowship and respect those who don't. There will be one day in each of our lives when this question will be answered. Do you want to spend all of your time until then debating it?

I offer an alternative/complimentary idea to term limits: We need legislation passed that would allow us to RECALL elected representatives on the Federal level. I did some research on this and some states have it for their state level representatives, but it is not allowed for representatives to the federal government. I think if they know that we can recall them if we don't like their actions, then we may actually be able to get them to pay more attention.

1.) Phase out Social Security and Medicaid / Medicare over 10 years (10%/year). This would give people plenty of time to adjust. 2.) Mandatory drug testing for welfare recipients. I have to take one to get and keep my job. They should too to get my money. 3.) Eliminate all perks for congress. No healthcare, lifetime salaries, retirement plans, etc.. 4.) Congress gets paid at the rate of 75% of the average U.S. worker's salary and no bonuses, gifts, advances, etc.. while serving. 5.) I like the special counsel to investigate citizen's complaints against elected officials... that would be a busy office!

I posted a link to FairTax.org - It is promoted as a revenue neutral way to get rid of the complicated tax code. Basically a Flat Tax that addresses some of the concerns, such as unfairly impacting the poor, etc...

Just another example of the fact that they either haven't got a clue as to what they are doing, or they know EXACTLY what they are doing. Either way, we are all in trouble. I heard Geithner's comment about the global currency. I was wondering why he would say that when his boss, B.O., said exactly the opposite on national TV. I tend to think it's the clueless explanation, but it could be an attempt to confuse people as to where they stand on this.

Since the First Amendment has already been quoted, I won't repeat it. However, a belief in God does not exclusively make you a Christian. The founders clearly believed in a Creator (see the Declaration of Independence), yet they recognized that one form of belief or worship could not, nor should be, "established" by the government above all others (ex: Church of England), otherwise we would have a theocracy, which is politically no different than a monarchy or oligarchy. Second, the Treaty of Tripoli states: "Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; ..." What you say is TRUE, "we are NOT a Christian nation". We are not founded on the Christian religion as the Treaty states. Substitute Jewish, Islamic, Pagan or any other flavor for Christian, and the line still makes sense. I repeat, a belief in God, Allah, Nature, the Creator, Great Spirit or The Flying Spaghetti Monster, does not make you a Christian. Please do not confuse the two. Christians believe in God, not all who believe in God are Christians. The reference, in my opinion, was meant to reinforce the fact that our differences were not based on religion and that the conflict was not a rekindling of the Crusades. Additionally, Glenn only asked that if you believed in 7 of the 9 principles, to join us here. If you don't want to believe in God, then you still have 8 principles that you can agree with us on. And the 12 values... are there any of those that you would not want to say about yourself?
