"Look at me. I'm livin' in the Dream Home!" LOL!!! Cute. Thanks for the view of the dream home dog- home. I have a large dog, but my uncle in California says that when Molly is no longer with me, she's 15 but thinks she's still a puppy, that I need to get a Dachshund for their loyalty and "funness." We had a standard (old breed) Dachshund 10 years ago (over 30lb) & she was one of the smartest, fastest, & most loyal dogs I've ever seen. She, Amber, would come sit on our porch steps anytime 1 of us was there just to share the moment. She sat on our step w/ her front feet on the next step down, like a little person. A small Dachshund would be a nice dog to have in the dream doghome........or any small dog.
Congratulations to today's winner, whoever that blessed person is!
You're a hoot, Gail. Would never of thought of that particular perspective in viewing the master bath. And I love the way you referred to the bathroom as OUR bathroom. Sounds good the way you make it so personally, potentially OUR'S. Thanks. The view of the mountain and outside the home was incredible to say the least. The summer view must be equally, incredibly awesome with the leaves on the trees and all the wild flowers out. I can truly see it in my mind's eye, taking a walk on a soft summer evening after a gentle New England rain with the setting sun causing the lingering raindrops to sparkle on all the trees and lower foliage. Something special about a summer rain in the woods. Makes all the leaves reflect back the light that shines on them. So beautiful!
Well, less than a week. Yipee! Good luck to all!
New England is so beautiful! There is nothing like living in there. Our 1st fall in Massachusetts was a time for brilliant color that year; the calendar kind. One morning while driving to a store, I couldn't seem to soak in enough of the unbelievable reds, oranges, & yellows surrounding us. Almost drove off the road that day. Sometimes the maple tree leaves turn an almost luminous yellow. Against the dark bark of the trees, it takes your breath away.
The sights and smells of autumn become intoxicating paving the way for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Then as it passes its peak it seems to beckon you to prepare for winter; a time to plant yourself beside a cozy fire during a blizzard, or to cuddle under warn quits & be mindful of, thankful for the protection w/in.
There's nothing like watching one of those storms w/ everyone else in bed & the snows swirling off the roof & around the windows. Or to get up in the night & see a full moon casting shadows across the glistening bright snow of the back yard. Or this one....watching your children make a snow a fort, then being invited to come visit them inside it. Sweet!
Just wanted to share some of my own experiences. Good luck to all.
Gail! You are perky one I enjoy watching talk about the Dream Home! I really enjoyed your comments on the ski dorm. It is a fantastic space....has a feeling of real coziness to it. When I first looked at the floor plans a couple of months ago, I was in a hurry and thought that the ski dorm was above the master bedroom. I came back later that night to look at it again telling myself that you guys are too good and would NEVER put an eight bed sleeping room, with connecting "bath house," over the master bedroom. Well, of course you didn't. The house is so well planned out, thought out. Congratulations on another beautiful dream home! What a true joy this house is going to be to someone.......soon!
Really enjoyed the kitchen storage tour you gave, Mary. Thanks. Enjoy all your cute, perky tours. I was really looking hard for the dishwasher in the kitchen, and you answered that. Thanks. And you're so right, the builders left nothing out of that kitchen. What a fantastic place to cook and entertain! What a fantastic home this Dream Home is! I like it better than 2010's, and that's saying a lot because that home was so beautiful, and so well placed. I knew I wouldn't be the winner of that home but it didn't keep me from dreaming.....and doesn't keep me from dreaming about this wonderful Dream Home either like all the rest of us are, right everybody? Well, let's keep on dreaming cause the end is just around the corner, and someone is going to win. Good luck to everyone!
REALLY! I'm a New Englander at heart, born a Texan. We lived in Massachusetts for 8 years where we raised 4 children. As often as we could we would visit Burlington and cross Lake Champlain on a ferry to go to a summer family camp. We are all back in Texas, or in a neighboring state; but, oh, to be back in New England, esp. Vermont!
