Yellow Menace - Asian Pop Culture Upside Your Head : Cowboy Bebop movie - Sunrise involved, Keanu hangs with Watanabe

I don't have any ideas for the rest of the cast. Personally, I think it would be a mistake to load it up with Big Names. I too am excited for this movie, especially with Sunrise in charge. I think Keanu is the perfect choice for Spike and I can't wait to see what he does with it! It's going to be interesting, a great deal of the appeal of these characters - writing and directing aside - is the artwork and animation. It was SO well done on SO many levels, to see it in live action is going to be jarring, but if it's done right, it can work very well. My hope is that it is a huge hit and introduces more people to the excellence that is Cowboy Bebop.

Big Hollywood : Mamas, Papas and Daughters: Acid is a Helluva Drug

My sister was telling me about this last night. I'm kind of boycotting tv at the moment, so I hadn't heard. Sick sick sick. I don't know what to think, whether it happened or not (it very likely could have) and why reveal it now. Geeze

Big Hollywood : LIES

Frankly, I'm afraid to watch the guy talk. Judging from the reactions to this clown during the campaign, I was afraid there was some mass hypnosis going on. Thankfully, it looks like it's mostly wearing off some people. Anyway, thanks for watching that for me and reporting back (so I didn't have to). It's a foregone conclusion that he's a liar liar pants on fire. I just can't stand listening to him long enough to actualy count up the lies.

Big Hollywood : ‘Family Guy’ Taking Right Turn?

That's not surprising. Those on the left have a demonic image of anyone on the right and ARE usually floored when they are confronted with the reality. Maybe having Rove and Limbaugh on the show is a GOOD thing - for the writers. When they find out that the people they make fun of are actually good people, maybe they'll rethink their attitudes. Seth MacFarlane sounds like a fairly smart guy. Looks like we'll find out next season. Also for what it's worth - those horrid episodes submitted for Emmy consideration notwithstanding, I've laughed myself literally SICK at some of the episodes I'd seen. The episode about the Y2K meltdown had me coughing up both lungs from laughing. There are others, but that one was a keeper, and the fact that it wound up being very pro-gun at the end was icing on the cake.

Big Hollywood : Breaking My Comic-Con Cherry

*whimper* I wish I could have GONE!!! I've been to two of them (and was in San Diego for a third, but didn't have a ticket - the line for on site registration was a mile long - or was it a mile and a half?). Yep, you captured Comic Con in this posting, you sure did. Drive to the con? My dear man... If you are fortunate enough to get a hotel room anywhere in downtown San Diego, you could walk. That's how I got around, only needing a car or hotel transportation if driving out to Ocean Beach for a side trip. Park at the hotel, then hoof it. A friend and I did hire one of those bicycle taxis once. That was fun (and the driver was very cute and very French :). Good times!

Big Hollywood : Has Liberalism Jumped the Shark?

Excellent posting! I've noticed this too, leftist troll traffic is down wherever I go too. Now they are going to have a disaster and can't blame the conservatives, and many of the youngsters that were so gung ho on Obama are finding out exactly WHAT they voted for. This is a good life lesson for them, that they're not babies any more and that they do have to have a hand in their own lives and future. Independence is a wonderful thing, isn't it? :) Obama and the Democratic Congress and Senate are leaving that jumped shark far behind by now, so it should be an interesting mid-term election. NOW I have hope.

Big Hollywood : Comic Con International Through the Years

I've been to only 2 Comic Cons and had the time of my life each time. My best one was in 2001. That's a week in San Diego I'd love to relive. And you're so right about the crowds and the costumes. The booths and talks are fabulous, but even if you're not into it, just finding a spot to park for people watching is rewarding too. Anyone planning on going, make sure you pre-register! Last time I went, I hadn't done that. I was in town visiting with friends who were going to the con - decided to go while there, and wound up standing in a line that stretched a mile from the entrance. We wound up going to Ocean Beach instead. I miss Comic Con. I miss San Diego. Sigh.

Big Hollywood : Deepak Chopra’s Hatred for America

Chopra must have never watched that TV show Kung Fu, or any of the Billy Jack movies. Peaceful people - pacifists - that would have been killed if they didn't know how to kick ass and take names. I don't believe in starting fights, but I sure do believe in finishing them. If Chopra is that disturbed by America, I suggest he maybe find a nation to call home that isn't willing to defend itself or ideals.

From the posting: "But if you watch the footage for a few minutes before his genuinely moving final bulletin, you’ll hear his innuendo hinting that Kennedy has been shot by disgruntled right-wingers. It must have broken his heart to find out that JFK had been murdered by a commie loner with an affinity for Castro. " I don't doubt it it was made, but I missed the innuendo and I watched it twice. Could someone point out at what time it was made?

Big Hollywood : Hollywood Head Game

This is wonderful, THANK you! I too want to know when hats became passe? I ask this as a Catholic who USED to need to wear a head covering at Mass (it was tradition, not any doctrinal or liturgical requirement). I really miss that. I think hats are a wonderful accessory, and those photos you provided prove that beautifully.

So, the deliberate attempt to exterminate an entire race isn't a concern? Black-on-black violence, homelessness & housing, drugs, racism and unemployment ARE big concerns (you forgot education), but so are the deaths of millions of black babies along with people in power wanting that continued and increased. Your posting is what's laughable here, too bad it wasn't funny.

Oh boy, thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one who has feelings of hoplessness about the fate of our beautiful country. One just feels so helpless - will enough people wake up in enough time to undo the damage that Obama and his minions in the House and Senate are doing? Listening to the news with this latest breandead healthcare scheme, I hear that the majority of Americans don't want this plan, yet they seem hell bent on doing it anyway. What's wrong with this picture?

Big Hollywood : Review: 'Moon' Rocks!

I think Obama was mentioned because we just don't know WHAT he's going to do with the space program in general and NASA in particular. There are also concerns about the (fairly) recent dependence on committees and studies, which in and of themselves aren't BAD things. I like the idea of private companies taking over what NASA can't, but I do think that a quest for a moon base would do wonders for the economy and innovation. THAT'S a stimulus I can get behind.
