It does look pretty toned down but "in costume" is not the same as "in character". I wouldn't make too hasty a judgment based on these pictures alone.

I thought the first two were clever. I didn't see the third one, the previews reeked of desperation. This one sounds alright, I'll probably catch it on DVD.

I do want to see this movie. I wish I'd read the comments before I watched the trailer. I hate it when they show that much of the plot in the trailer. The people that make trailers seem to completely misunderstand their purpose.

I grew up with the Pink Panther movies. Peter Sellers was so wonderful. I understand Steve Martin wanting to pay tribute but he is completely wrong as Clouseau.

I wish Steve Martin would do more things like Shopgirl or The Spanish Prisoner. I love him in those movies.
