I hold my nose as I suggest this, but I recommend to back off on the cartoon poster - no apology, just change it to something that cannot be targeted so easily, say, a photo from one of those London protests, "Europe, your holocaust is coming" or of the poor woman stuck in the ground getting stoned, or other real image. The main goal is to get Robert Spencer onto campus to speak freely. Once he is there, he can address the poster/cartoon issue rationally, and set an example of gentility. If new inoffensive posters are also torn down, then you have evidence - to take to the FSU admin, at least - that the cartoon wasn't the issue after all. That's worth something.

It is refreshing to see the term "Muslim Arab" (or "Arab Muslim") replace "Palestinian" when the meaning is "Muslim Arab". The wrong term muddies effective analysis and caves into falsification of history. It is no small matter and it ought to become part of our collective vocabulary and a good early talking point in any germane conversation. Thanks for the clarity, Hugh.

I recall the little green bibles that some Christian group distributes every year at the local community colleges. Robert - Hugh - can you folks whip up a little inexpensive thin-paged fact-filled, reference-filled book that can be distributed free to our state and federal legislators? They should also be distributed for free or for cheap generally.

I hope that many of the readers here and elsewhere would be happy to contribute to such a project.
