Unbelievable how the WI public employees unions are behaving - reminds me of small kids throwing a tantrum when they can't get their way. Here's how to be YOUR OWN firefighting force: just keep a couple of buckets of sand around along with a fire marshall-rated fire extinguisher. Wool blankets will also smother a fire. Not a nuisance at all :) Most of the Central Valley is conservative. Only the coastal population centers in Los Angeles and the Bay Area have the numbers to hold an edge. Although we shall see what the political effects of 12 percent plus unemployment will have on the next election. Thank you for complimenting my mother and her generation of teachers. Not wanting to rain on the parade here, however, as a Californian, I agree with tgusa above ^^. Having run conservatives out of town and generally making life miserable for anyone in the rest of my State who disagree with them politically, the folks in Compton have simply tired of the fallout of 30 years of leftism/marxism and how its affected them personally. Sorry for my skepticism - we here in California shall see how this one goes. In other States, the Trigger Law would be very successful. Compton and other towns in Los Angeles are marxist strongholds. Government union workers who are affirmative action hires who can be difficult to fire, hold political sway over the region. They are joined by marxist Catholic clergy and marxist Jewish temple congregants along with the ACLU/Ramona Ripston. Next door to Maxine Water's Congressional District, Compton is represented by the uber-leftist Laura Richardson who was re-elected a couple of years ago despite local warning news media reports of her 2 foreclosures having used subprime loans under very shady circumstances.
