Here's my conjecture: A few powerful Dems found out that Weiner had some nasty sexting habits (he may actually have gotten hacked at some point). They knew the story would leak - too many girls to pay off etc. So what to do? Create sock-puppets Betty & Veronica ("Ethel", the high school girl in Delaware, is real) & Betty's mom - have Weiner DM the girls - dangle the bait to conserv bloggers (which they did) then have the mom issue a statement SUPPORTING Weiner, make it seem like it was all on the up & up. So conserv bloggers were put in the position of thinking that Weiner was a perv texting underage girls. And then - boom - let the NYT (thru TC) know that the identities were fake - so it would look like conserv's were setting Weiner up. The public wouldn't know what was false/true. The Leftist media would run with the Weiner-victim story. But - the underwear pic was a fluke. Weiner really couldn't control himself. And then the rest of the pics started coming out - the visual proof was stronger than the narrative. Sounds convoluted but is actually pretty simple. Another theory is that Betty & Veronica were Weiner & Gennette. So ..... what did Tommy know - and when did he know it? Where did he get his info from?

Re "Betty" - whose "real" name was "Nikki Reid" - but of course was fake. Nikki Reed, the actress (yes, dif spelling) co-wrote the screenplay & starred in "Thirteen" - about very young teenage girls engaging in drug/alcohol use & sexual activity. Lots more details at Patterico & Lee Stranahan's site. "Veronica"'s "real name" (another fake) was Marianela Alicea - in English, Mary Ann Alice. Funny - in Alice in Wonderland, Mary Ann was the White Rabbit's maid, & he confused Alice with the maid - case of mistaken identity. Plus there are ref's to Hollywood High School, Buckley School, where celebutards attend, etc. Get it? We've been played. The statement from "Betty's mom" doesn't read right - not from a mother, but not from a prof'l PR firm either. I'd bet $$$ that TC wrote it himself - and got approval from Betty's mom over the phone etc. IF he even talked to anyone over the phone - at all. He said he got pics of the fake ID's faxed to him. Why believe him? Why believe any detail of his story?

I keep hearing Podesta-bots bringing up Sen Vitter's use of prostitutes, as if Republicans are hypocrites. Apples & oranges comparison. The blackbook of a DC madam was made public in '07 - Vitter's # was there. He had used prostitutes in the 1990's & the last in 2001. He had told his wife, they had marriage counseling, & he had made confession (he's Rom Catholic). He didn't go before cameras & lie & lie & lie. Neither did he blame Democrats or reporters & make up even more lies, to throw other people under the bus. He & his wife did a press conference & admitted the whole thing. IOW, it was past history.
