Distracted driving is every bit as dangerous and DWI and, arguably causes more accidents. But lets keep this on topic here.

Traffic cameras DO NOT make people more aware of red lights! They make people aware of traffic cameras.

If you aren't on top of your driving enough to be aware of a large red light, traffic cameras are not going to help. And with 8000 plus "tickets" issued by them it's pretty clear that they haven't been the deterrent that the city advertised them to be.

The point here is that the city has made a camera judge, jury and executioner and tried to completely bypass our constitutional right to due process. They issue judgments based on who owns a license plate number and have no idea who is actually driving the car.

This is wrong! It's unconstitutional and a violation of our rights and that is what the court ruled on.

If you've had a traffic related tragedy in your life I offer you my most heart felt condolences but giving up your rights is never the answer.

The city continues to hold that these cameras are in place for "public safety"...

Nonsense!

These things are there to more effectively separate you from your money and put it in the hands of the city. Why put a patrol car there when a camera can hand out tickets at 10 times the rate and for a fraction of the cost!

We won't even talk about the trampling of our rights and the lack of constitutional due process.

I see people looking at the cameras as they approach the intersection instead of looking for oncoming traffic. How exactly does that make things safer on Springfield streets?

Just follow the money and you'll find the truth!

Kudos to the higher court for shooting these things down and standing up for our rights!

Last week I asked you for a copy of a call with the intention of using it to feed a little crow to a competitor (Panther Mobile). You know what, never mind. I'm not going to do it.

You're dead right and even though the Panther vs. WOW mobile feud angered me greatly, I'm not going to play that game..

I have done a disservice to you and your business by over reacting to what was said by Panther. What I should have done was to inform you of WHAT had happened and not try to tell you how to react to it.

For what it's worth, I think GV is just making a bunch of noise on this one. If they move forward with a legal action it's going to mean airing their dirty laundry in open court and I seriously doubt they want to do that.
