"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Peter Laird tries to prove that he’s no longer relevant by panning JJ Abrams Star Trek, calling it “a HUGE disappointment,” “lots of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”"

LOL indeed. Because TMNT was such a well thought out, deep morality tale...

And are people just now noticing the similarities between the Iron Man and Trek posters? That's the very first thing I said when I saw it a month ago: "Paramount must be using the same guy to do the international Star Trek poster!"

It's not Universal's fault you didn't plan ahead.

What happened to the movie industry losing *so much money* from online piracy like the MPAA is more than happy to trot around? It seems in the past year or so a lot of records have been broken, and last year the movie industry had their highest grossing year ever.

For anyone that has seen "Spaced", they would know telling Pegg that he was working with the "new Jar Jar" wouldn't illicit a good reaction.

I find it hilarious that everyone here seems to be taking this as the be-all end-all review of this film. "Oh well if Brendon didn't like it..." Seriously, he spends half a paragraph comparing a character who's in it for a few minutes at best to the Ewoks, who encompassed a great deal of "Return of the Jedi".

Try reading more than this review and you'll find there are many more praising the film a great deal, though in his defense most of them do have the general theme of "things seem to convenient at times", along with the criticism over the lack of development of the villain, Nero.

I'm surprised he's trusted with $100 mil after Watchmen, though I'm sure it went through beforehand.

That's horrible! I was lucky enough to see it in the theater (a Landmark Theater in Minneapolis) and I loved it. I was hoping to buy it on DVD soon, fuck that now. At least until I hear the subs have been fixed proper.
