Sensophy.com : The Master-Mind's Guide to Master-Mind Groups

Thanks for this great post Jacob. I've always been a little envious of the wonderful mastermind group you are part of, I've followed many of you through entheos and Optimal Living. As I start my Life Coaching Business, it now seems the right time for me to set up my own MasterMind Group. I knew I'd seen a great post about setting one up, and managed to find this blog again this morning. I still need to be clear about the purpose of my group, and select my potential members. Thank you so much for a fab post. You are truly awesome :-) Maxine

Sensophy.com : Steve Jobs 2005 Stanford Commencement Speech

I just love this speach. The first time I heard it was shortly after I'd heard Joseph Campbells "Follow your bliss" quote, and it seemed to reinforce the idea of spending your life doing what you love, not what someone else says you should do. I also loved how the caligraphy course taken for fun, turned out to be so useful later on. I've always wanted to do a course myself, I really should look into it!! I'm doing the Passion Test course at the moment, and they say that if you just follow your passions, it's like following a trail of breadcrumbs which will take you on your purpose, even if it doesn't make sense at the time. Thanks for sharing Jacob, loving the wisdom you're sharing

Living at Cause : The Living at Cause Miniseries with Sean Stephenson — Brought to you by FinerMinds

Great video Sean, You are truly an inspiration. The one area that I would like some guidance is relationships. My husband died 2 years ago. I have 3 children, 13, 11, and 9. I had a boyfriend, who was a wonderful man, but his parenting style was so different to mine, and while I realised that I needed to become more assertive with my kids, and have taken action by attending a Parenting course, and reading books, he was certain that he was "right". He didn't like the way my children behaved, the kids didn't like the way he treated them, and I felt like piggy in the middle. There were other differences between us, I'm passionate about life and love and him, and he wasn't so much. I remember another video of yours which said that women should not settle for less, and I wrote out my list of needs for a relationship, and other attributes of a man which would be a bonus. I want a wonderful man, who appreciates me, loves me and my kids. However, because my kids were so resistant to this man, I feel like I've had to make a choice between my needs for a relationship, and my children's needs for my undivided attention. As their only parent, I feel obligated to put my kids first. But then I really don't want to wait until all my kids have left home until I can have the relationship that I want. Any thoughts?

PhilosophersNotes TV : Positive Addiction - Episode #105

Hi Brian Congratulations on your #100 tv episode. I was flicking through my ipod today, and randomly chose this note, and then followed it up with the tv episode, which I then discovered was the last one. I just loved this note. It certainly helps to explain how my husbands gave up on life with the deaths of his father, mother and sister, which led to a depression, which he chose to manage with alcohol, which eventually led to his suicide. The note for me, gave me some comfort, in that my husband made those choices, and no matter what I tried to do to help him, these were his choices. I could have let all this pull me down, and for about a year after his death, it really did. However, I can see that I have developed so many positive addictions in my life since discovering PN, that I now have the strength to help me find happiness. What a note to finish on, wish I'd found it sooner :-)

Thanks to John for the mention on the Tuesday call about noticing our hooks, from Pema Chodrins book. I was attending a teenagers parenting course last night, and the focus was on tools for handling conflict. We looked at trying to establish the goals behind behaviour of the child, and then we may be able to respond more effectively to challenging behaviour. Children are experts at getting us to meet their hidden goals by "hooking us in" to their agenda, their behaviour is the bait or hook. Once the goal is clear we can avoid getting hooked in by not giving the response our child was "fishing for". We might even do the opposite of what we normally do. I just thought it was interesting that I got a lot out of this point last night, and this morning, while listening to the call, while walking!! :-), it was reiterated again by yourself. Thank you, it's obviously a lesson I need to learn :-)

Hi Vicky I would love to stay up for the calls, but after I stayed up for the 1st Embodiment call, it just ruined the whole of the following day, so while I can see I'd get more out of it, by being on the call, for now, I'm just listening to the calls, as soon as they're posted, and contributing via these discussion boards, and the new entheos web site. Are you on there yet, would be great to make contact there too? Maxine

Hi Mikeklotz I know what you mean about the tv, I realised that I was spending way too much time on my laptop, so my negative fundamental was to be internet free between 5 and 9 in the evening, ensuring I used my time with my kids, cooking and eating with my kids. I haven't stuck at it 100%, but I'm trying.

Hi Jayne, I was feeling a bit of the same resistance. However, I'm currently on part 5 of the 10 part film, Food Inc on Youtube, and I am shocked at what I'm watching. I can understand how once you've become more aware of what goes on in the production of our food, you would want to share it with other people. I've posted the first part on my facebook page, but am holding back from posting further episodes, since I don't want to become evangelical, myself :-)
