I agree 100% they are doing these things because they work like a charm. The whole "We shouldn't sink to that level" argument is pretty meaningless at this point. The ends DO justify the means. The only country we have to live in is on the precipice. Time to take the gloves off and go for the throat.

The easiest target and the 1st front on the battlefield is the leftist media outlets and Hollywood.(Always "leftist" never "liberal" it sounds more easily marginalized. "Liberal" has connotations of freedom.)

Ridicule and slander are your sword and shield. "Leftists", "statist" "Big Government" (haha Andrew's got it")
Your up against Goliath so aim where it hurts the most....Money.

It is worth noting however that the one biggest hurdle to getting a fiscal conservative into power are social conservatives. The two shouldn't be tied together. Libertarianism is the future if indeed you want one.

The crowds reaction proves that constantly and consistently attacking a brand (T.E.A, Party) is very effective.
I think from what I've read of Ann's new book that it's brilliant turn of events. You can make all the cogent well informed arguments you want. The herd will always respond to marketing, not reality.
The situation we are in now with leftist requires an understanding of psychological principles.
You already know that lefist beliefs are irrational, so why debate?
Conservative leaders need to learn to play the real game: marketing.
New media means new possibilties. It's an open horizon waiting to be explored.
