Being a gay man, OBVIOUSLY I am for gay rights lol. But honestly, why is he apologizing? If thats his opinion thats his opinion. I think a big issue we have nowadays are politicians who back track their words and "apologize" because its not something the people want to hear. If hes so worried about what people think, he should just keep his mouth shut.

I love that everyone is saying, "oh good, they're illegal and theyll be deported." HAHAH, whatever portland and all you liberal do gooders, they'll be out in a week, and even if they are deported, theyll be back in America days later. Like it matters.

I dont know what makes me more sick, the fact that he wears this "Undocumented, Unaffraid, and Unashamed" shirt to wipe it in the face of people here who pay texes which go towards his and his 13 MILLION other illegal friends in the US to pay for their welfare, services and schooling....or that all these hippie libbers STAND UP for it and act like its ok and say things like "ohhhhh we were all illegal once."

I would not say im racist, I do not care where you are from, Mexico, asia, africa, or canada, if you are here illegally, you are not "undocumented." YOU ARE BREAKING THE LAW. And it makes me sick that we have a president, who is probably not even legal himself, who seems to think this is not an issue even though we struggle to take care of people who are here legally. And now we are passing things in California like the dream act, which gives "undocumented" students in California a chance to go to college through state grants. HELLO? WHY ARE WE SUPPORTING ILLEGALS? There was another story on here now about 5 heroin trafficers who were just caught, thats the life of an illegal. You dont have a social or papers, you cant get a decent job, that is going to be your life. Discusting. Oh well Portland, you asked for this.

I just wanted to respond, as a gay man, it is very funny to read what some people have to say about the topic. I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and therefore I do not get upset if people may not agree with a gay persons way of life, however I did want to respond because it is annoying to read some comments about how people "CHOOSE" to live this lifestyle. Having discussed this topic many times before, I find people that have the most negative things to say are the ones who KNOW NOTHING about the topic.

First off, I did not CHOOSE to be gay. I did not choose to live in a society where people are taught that homosexuals are second class citisans, nor did I choose to grow up having people call me names, feeling like there was something wrong with me because society told me it was. I can remember being as young as 5 or 6 and having 'crushes' on guys. And despite what some of you may be thinking, I was not melested and nothing happened to me at a young age that could make me have these feelings....I grew up in a middle class church going family with an older brother (who by the way is married with a child) If a beautiful woman walked in the room right now, I would LOVE to have those weak kneeded feelings for her and feel like I could have a relationship with her, because then my life would be easier, but I cant, thats not me, and its peoples comments and lack of knowledge on the topic that made it very difficult for me to grow up thinking I could change who I was, because I tried, and despite what some of you may think, "prayer" does not help you get over being gay like taking a morning after pill.

I do not mean to sound like I am judging, but I have also met many self proclaimed "bi sexuals" and people who are in a hetero relation one week, then a gay relationship the next. This topic is rather annoying for me because I believe it is relationships like this that cause people in the outside world to look at gay relationships and let them think its a "CHOICE" But the fact of the matter is, the way people live their lives is none of your business, if people are happy let them be happy, because happiness is something that is hard to come about nowadays.

I just wanted to try and shed some light on the topic that I did not "choose" to be gay....But I CHOOSE to not respond to the topic of gay marriage because it is a very sensitive topic for a lot of people and always ends with divided thoughts. I personally do not need anything that has the title of having a 60% divorce rate attached to it to make me feel happy or accomplished or more in love. Homosexuality is NOT a choice, but homophobia is, hopefully you remember that.
