yeah, it was a bold decision. I think I say something VERY similar on color splash. Didn't david spray paint a deer head orange to put over a fireplace. So who had the smart decision first?

That's funny, Candace does that same trick to make the room seem bigger. She and Vern use mirrors constantly. Designers use multiples in rooms constantly. It's a design theory that all of the HGTV stars use.
I will watch HGTV (and Food Network, DIY, Fine Living. They are all owned by the same company) but I won't watch Antonio's show. I've seen "Monster House" (which I think was on a different network) and it's just not something I want to see again.

Actually The judges probably never saw all of the footage. And I can say (because I work in the business) that the judges' input was probably only 30% of the voting power. The producers of HGTV were the ones who chose the winner. I don't know who wrote it on the thread but HGTV needed a personality. That is the truth. They needed someone, they thought, that would bring in a different demographic. They needed someone to shake it up. It didn't matter that the personality had design talent or not.
And, in the long run, it is Reality Television. It's edited to go a certain way to get RATINGS. DId you know that on Survivor, they sometimes have to do as many as 25 takes to get the shot of some conspiracy plot. And boy, I bet they got big ratings when they edited the commercials to make the pergola mess seem messier. We watched to see if Dan was going to be kicked off or not.
I think, and this is only my take on everything, that people are upset because they feel like they were tricked. Doesn't matter who you are or who you were rooting for on DS, people don't like being duped.

Well David I guess you should paint your bedroom in that green color if you love it so much. And kudos for playing it very very safe. I guess it's a No No to bash your bosses on their website. You lost 1 point with me. Mobile home? really. You are saying the headboard looked like a mobile home? Really? No... really?

I don't think Kim Myles is like Dan or that blond girl from last year is like Dan either. And I don't think many people will be watching another season of Design Star. Fool us once, shame on you. Fool us twice, shame on us.

I think people are upset because they have been conned by the heads at HGTV. If they wanted Antonio to have his own show, they should have just given it to him.
I don't know Dan to call him my "friend" but remember, it isn't about who was the best host or the best designer, it was about what the network needed. That is how show business works. If Dan had won there would have been a lot of people whining about Dan. Like it or not,we all fell into HGTV's trap and watched the show.
