Bless you for doing this. I'm sure the loved ones of all the soldiers hang on every word, and scrutinize every picture.

I saw this film in 1963 in San Francisco when It first came out. I was a senior in high school. I have been wracking my brains for the past couple of weeks to remember the name of it, as it just popped into my mind. I'm so glad that I read this post. Holy Moly, what a coincidence! I remember the stir at the time, as it was just so different from previous war movies. Gosh, I wish there were some way to get a copy of it. legally of course.

Good lord, what did she do to her hair?! Oops, sorry, it looks like it might be a cheap wig, not her actual hair. And she thinks Sarah and Jan are dumb? LOL

I thoroughly enjoyed it. I might even go back, even though it's a 60 mile round trip for me to go to the movies. The cast was perfect.

Actually in 2004 all of his essays from his own website were published in book form in "Silent America". You can read them online also. Those essays changed my life. You can get the book at Amazon:

RIP, Mr. Cannell. I'm going to miss that twinkle in your eye at Castle's poker table.
May God comfort your family.

Chris, I can't tell you how happy I am for you. I have a copy of "Border" and have watched it several times, thinking holy moly this guy really needs to be recognized more for the talent he has. And now you are, as all the others who are involved. We really need this.
