NO!!!! This is the third time I've attempted to see this trailer and failed!!! Oh well, all in good time. One can only hope that this is half as good as the original.

You know, this really doesn't look half bad! I mean, for anyone who saw the amazing original (if you haven't seen it, I HIGHLY recommend that you do!), it looks pretty true to the original; From the cop car crashing on its way to deliver the money, and the countdown to deliver it. So if it is anything like the original, it should be solid action packed fun. But I do have to disagree; it looks like Travolta's character is working with a crew like the original. Plus, Tony Scott directed True Romance, one of my favorite films of all time, so I'm always interested to see what he can bring to the table.

Yeah, I have to say this film is passable, but nothing special. There was really nothing original at all about this film. It seems that opening massacres before the title sequences are the new thing in horror. Added, I didn't see a single scare through out (The part with the car was good). There are just more of the same old tricks that have been used time and time again in horror films. There was also some major huh? Moments such as Jason killing residents of Crystal Lake (why now?), and how Trent's family has been going to there cabin for years, yet Jason now has a problem with that. However, I must say that this film has its moments. The acting is not what I have come to expect from past Friday films (it's actually pretty good!). Stands outs for me were indeed Travis Van Winkle (playing the perfect jock) and Aaron Yoo gave me a couple laughs. For me, Danielle Panabaker was far more of a sympathetic character than Amanda Righetti, so the ending didn't sit that well. Derek Mears is the star. He made Jason all his own and did an amazing job. Wouldn't mind seeing him behind the mask again. But overall, this film was entertaining. The gore level was pretty good, and a few cool kills to boot. But this film would truly grade higher in my book if it had more scares (mainly, I think this has to do with the over editing that occurred every time Jason was chasing someone). Out of 10 I would probably give this one a 6.
