I had a visit with my ENT a few weeks ago and we had quite a discussion about all of this, he said that he thinks there will be a very large percentage of Physicians that will give up their practices if this thing get rammed through. He of course is very concerned. I can't imagine spending all that time and sacrifice getting through med school and internships to finally achieve what you have been working for - which is what embodied the American dream is - and then having to make a choice to give it up because now the government wants to tell you who you can treat, how many patients you can treat and when you can treat them. This who thing makes me sick (no pun intended). I am very scared about this.
I ruptured a tendon in my foot a year and a half ago, and went to a specialist, who sent me for an MRI ( to verify the rupture) and within a week had surgery to repair it. I can't imagine if I would have had to wait for 6 months to get the MRI - then having to get permission from the government to have surgery. At that point my arch would have fallen and then I would have had to have reconstructive surgery!!
I also want to add my thanks for what you do, I have great admiration for all the work Physicians do! (I get squeamish putting on a band aid :-) )
