The problem is that it's hard at times to tell who is an addict and who really needs the pills.

Maybe they don't respond to you because they know you need help from a mental health professional... At least that's what your posts imply. If nothing else maybe join an anger management program.

Ah, but as much as you state that apples and oranges are different, no matter how hard you try to change it: they are both fruit so while there are differences, there are also similarities. The 1st Amendment gives you the right to freedom of speech and assembly and also allows ICP to play their music, it does not guarantee that they can play their music where ever they darn well please. Some communities have opted to not have ICP or similar groups come to their area which is perfectly acceptable by 1st Amendment standards and the standards set forth by the US Supreme Court (advocacy of illegal action and obscenity are not protected rights) as well as the rights of the people in the community to not have ICP. We are not stopping your 1st Amendment right to listen to ICP or go to a concert, we are just saying we don't want that concert in our area. You are however welcome to attend any of the other concerts which ICP will be putting on, I'm sure they have them listed on their website. There have been studies (too numerous to mention them all) showing correlation between the type of music ICP plays and increase in violence, hate crimes, suicide, depression, etc etc etc (Rubin et al. (2001)., Took and Weiss (1994)., Scheel and Westefeld (1999)., Robinson, Chen, and Killen (1998)., Wingood, Diclemente, and Bernhardt (2003)., etc etc etc). As for the 2nd Amendment, I wholly believe in it but it does not apply here as your freedoms are not being threatened by this situation. There are other situations brewing which do threaten many American rights, but the cancellation of an ICP concert does not merit that type of response (and currently neither do any of the others). As for the claim of this being a violation of separation of church and state, that is just a joke as no church is telling the community leaders that they cannot allow ICP to come to the community, the community members are doing so (which is their 1st Amendment right to do so). Idaho has always statistically been a conservative, non-liberal, state. If you don't like it, then move to California or Washington D.C. as they may be more accommodating to your tastes. I might add since some of the other posts are talking about the LDS: Idaho is not this way because of the LDS church but because of the belief's people have in general no matter which church they belong to, the LDS just get a bad rap because the media and those who are against the LDS church or religion in general - are quick to point out if anyone from the LDS church or whatever religion stands in their way (as a member, not a leader of any type) has been involved in a decision that goes against the small minority of people who have a differing opinion and are trying to stir anger or hate from that small minority whither it be for publicity or due to resentment. My whole belief of ICP should not be allowed locally is not from any type of religious belief but from the belief that having an ICP concert would degrade our community and increase local crime (even if that local crime would not directly be attributed to ICP, chances are decent that there would be both direct and indirect crimes committed as consequence of this event and/or people listening to ICP's music. Granted not everyone who listens to ICP or goes to a concert would commit a crime (far from it) but statistically: said crime would exist as result of said concert or music as any state or national gang crime task-force would tell you...

I don't mind seeing them not coming. People may say that they should be allowed to go and see them, but there has been a sharp increase nation-wide of crimes committed by ICP followers, just ask the SLC District Attorney's Office who have reported an increase of crimes related to people claiming to be fans of ICP including charges of attempted murder (from using battleaxes on people) to one case where 10-14 people rushed officers with baseball bats after being asked to leave private property. While I realize not every fan of ICP would be violent (far from it) I do feel it causes violence in today's society to increase more than it would without the ICP. I'm sorry but I consider someone saying they should have the right to listen to ICP the same as a meth addict saying their addiction only hurts themselves and no one else when in reality that is far from the truth...
