Where would be a good place to find others in your own state to setup something like this? I will gladly be a part of this, but I don't know where to find others. I have quite a few liberal friends and a select few that I know are conservative. I can't think of any older crowds that I know that have the same values as I do, or that are willing to do anything. I guess I could try search engines. Thank you for this solution!

Ha ha, I agree. The first thing I thought of when I was trying to use the forum, was that it is not setup like a usual forum. It would be really nice to have a "regular" forum, where you can search for specific topics, start new ones, edit posts and be able to see who is online and who is an administrator. Somewhere where you can create an account on site. Or maybe this is just unfamiliarity talking. I would like to see these vents more organized, I think that would help calm some people's frustrations.

Now, to be fair, there's nothing wrong with Muslims. It's the crazy terrorist Muslims that we need to fear. Every religion has their 'crazies' but we can only point the blame at that particular group and not the religion in its entirety.

This site was formed because of one single American who called in to Glenn Beck's radio talk show and said, "Glenn, I've tuned out. I'm giving up. The site that we are on now is the culmination of just one of the ideas to prove to Ed that he is not alone in his way of thinking, that there are many others out there that feel the same way. Glenn is challenging us to not give up on America and to not tune out anymore.

People are tired of feeling like they don't matter. People are tired of being lied to by their own government. People are tired of having their values and beliefs constantly under attack by the government and the media. People are tired of feeling like they don't have a voice, when all they want is to be heard. These are just some of the reasons why we have congregated to this website.

The reason Glenn selected 9-12 as a theme is because of the sense of duty and togetherness that occurred on that day in 2001. It didn't matter if you were a Republican or a Democrat, it didn't matter what color of skin you had, on that day there was an uncanny sense of fellowship throughout the nation as Americans. Glenn wants this site to be the melting of minds, upholding the attitudes everyone had that day. This isn't fear mongering, it's reality. 9-12 is a metaphor that encapsulates the strength and courage that Americans have and I, personally, am very conscious of it's meaning.

I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean by 'raw' information. Another one of Glenn's goals for this site is to provide a think-tank for similarly-valued individuals that feel this country is heading in the wrong direction and to help each other direct this country back towards what our Founding Father's had envisioned. Our Constitution IS America's belief system and that's about as raw as you can get.

It's okay that you think I have a weak mind, see, this is what makes America the greatest country in the world: I don't agree with what you have said, but I will fight to the death for your right to say it.

OK, I may get flogged for this post, but I have a concern about the Electoral College. I know the time has past to really be thinking about this right now, but I'm wondering if a National Popular Vote system would help us with our 9-12 goals in the long run. I, personally, have never registered to vote because my state of Idaho has never voted for anyone other than a Republican since 1988. I already know the outcome of my vote, whether it is for a Republican, Democrat or an Independent candidate.

Now, it was explained to me, once, that a more populated state should effectively have a bigger say than a less populated state since they have more people and things would affect them to a greater extent. But, wouldn't an election process that includes America as a whole actually be more beneficial, accurate and fair than the fight over swing states that we currently see and the neglect of the states that candidates already assume the outcome of?

I am thinking of registering to vote, for the first time in my life, however, and join the Constitution Party of Idaho. (http://cpidaho.org/) And I don't want to see anyone write, (Doing Glenn's impersonation of a whiner) "Well, you've never registered to vote, you don't have the right to voice your opinion about what happens with our government." I just wanted to post the concerns I have about the Electoral College and wanted to see your opinions about it.

My husband and I just bought a gun. We are 28 and 27, respectively. We want a gun for protection at home and concealed carry (yes, we have our concealed weapons license) and we wanted one before it is too late. We were never in a hurry to get one up until recently. We are having one of those gut feelings that is saying we needed to act as soon as possible. Luckily, our purchase was made possible because of our tax returns. We continue training with our gun at an indoor shooting range and our mindset is that we will only use it as a last resort; if our or our family's life is in danger.
