I'm w/ you on Prime. That $79 gets erased fast via price savings, not to mention sales tax and gas to go get the stuff. Which I just mentioned.

It's funny how in traditional groups like churches, there is always room for a dated approach at some smaller, less hip venue.

I notice that now Paypal allows "personal" transfers that cost the sender and receiver nothing in fees. Would this work for tithes legally?

You like Apple products, Jon? And I don't mean iPods, which don't count. Gasp, do you use a Macbook?

And our separation begins...

Man, at least where you're looking you have some great choices. (from Northpoint to Crosspoint?!) Most of us look around the community and realize why we haven't moved. My brother and I are considering leaving the church we've grown up in. It's the largest, most modern in our area but it's still lacking. for example: we invited a friend and her daughter to the children's "bash" at a rented out water park. it didn't take long for her to look around and put her cover-up back on, remarking to my wife, "there are people wearing... clothes". At a waterpark. Welcome to church, honey, where it's ok to wear a bikini around non-christians, but not your "brothers and sisters".

Oh, you know why it's this way. Guys can handle the challenge. Ladies, they'll just get mad and fold their arms, thereby ruining the rest of the day for the family anyway.

I gotta say, I think you'll always be disappointed if you expect people to praise the absence of poor performance. That's not normal, but many a/v people fall into this trap of expecting praise for things not going wrong. That really shouldn't be the bar. Praise should arise only if things go really well.

It's not the singular mistake that's the issue, it's that they happen every week that is such a face-palm.

Agreed, but I will say it's clearly a bit different. Seeing that sword plunge into a man's torso doesn't make me participate in sin, such as murder, but seeing a sex scene can cause one to enter into lust while doing so. Not saying it's automatic, but I think that's what separates the two. As far as which is worse on us in the long run, I'm open to that debate.

I'm not sure I agree w/ you about there never being a time in film when nudity it relevant or strengthens the plot. But here's the thing: I still don't know how to resolve it as a christian. It's like this, if I'm pretending there is no god and just looking at this carnally, in that world I see how nudity/sex scenes inform certain aspects of the character, create drama, etc. I have seen films where it would have suffered dimensionally w/o that scene. But, back to reality, I don't know how to rationalize my eyes seeing that, even in the context of story, with me being a christian.
