West Ham Till I Die : Zola Fired

I don't know if we have actually paid him - doubtful I would think. But you're right they may strike a deal with him and offset some of the money he sued us for to his wages. Dodgy bastards the lot of them.

Nothing but good? other than spout their mouths off as soon as they get a sniff of a newspaper reporter in the near vicinity. And signed Mido (fat and useless -albeit for little cost) and McCarthy for TWO AND A HALF YEARS. He's 32! And he's enormous. It's not a cliche Kevin they are just mindless.

I wouldn't mind either of your 1, 2 or 3 but there is no way Curbishley has my support - not after last time. Awful football and a miserable bastard. Plus he sued us for unfair dismissal even though he quit.

So much for the theory that longevity breeds success. Look at the most successful managers in the league; Ferguson, Wenger have all been given time. All they asked Zola to do was keep us up - which he did. We will regret this I am sure of it because Zola will be successful in the future. Now we look forward to weeks and weeks of more media obsession from Gold & Sullivan - who I am sick of the sight and sound of quite frankly. They may be saving a few quid here and there but they are also damaging the reputation of our club with their pathetic outpourings to the papers and airing their dirty laundry to the general amusement of everyone else. I hope their tenure at the club is a short one and one that I can soon forget.

West Ham Till I Die : Vote: Player Performances v Man C

Yep, Dindane looked really good this season and you're spot on about Petrov. As for Joe Cole, I think we have to get used to the idea that he will be in a Spurs shirt playing alongside Jermaine Defoe next season!

I think Manchester Utd, Chelsea or whoever can carry a player that operates like that but when you are down in the relegation dog-fight too many mistakes are costly. Having said that, I take the point that we have not seen him consitently in his favoured position. According to the link Matt just posted, he may well be out the door anyway.

Chris at least we can agree on Daprela, if not Diamanti. Daprela had a great game yesterday and must feel aggreived that Spector has taken his place for much of the season and played so poorly.

Yeah but he doesn't deliver anything consistently, hence why he was dropped for so long. He lost possession and made bad decisions for most of the game yesterday.

Where did you hear that Diamanti was going to Inter Matt? I cannot believe a team like that would want such an average player. He cannot pass and his touch at times yesterday was laughable. He seems to get a rush of blood to the head whenever he has the ball at his feet and most of the time loses it, gets pissed off and fouls someone! Doesn't sound like a Champions League player to me...

West Ham Till I Die : West Ham v Man C: Match Thread

Just got back home. At times towards the end it was a bit training ground - both teams settling for a draw but it was a very entertaining 1st half. Nice to see SP get his awards at the end too. Boa Morte injected some life into our attack-shy midfield today but the most noticeable difference for me was FABIO DAPRELA. He had a really good game and Zola should have been playing him there for months now. Hard to see how Diamanti came runner up in the Hammer of the Year; he cannot complete basic passes and his touch is awful! Parker was playing in front of Capello's number 2 this afternoon and with Barry out, I hope he gets a call on Tuesday for the 30 man England squad he definitely deserves it. Come on you Irons.

It was amazing to see what Dyer is on. I also think the club has lied about this because I am sure that when Lucas Neil left they came out and said no player is on more than 60 grand. Maybe they forgot that Dyer was there given he has played five minutes worth of football in three years...

West Ham Till I Die : Mark Noble, Renaissance Man?

I think you've hit the nail on the head with the word 'winger' Doc. With Noble, Behrami, Parker and Kovac we have been so narrow this season hence the constant lumping it up field or passing backwards. You look at the season Etherington has just had at Stoke and think what could have been if we had a wide man with a little bit of pace.

I would like Carlton to stay. He gets a lot of stick but he is a good target man and we do not have anyone to replace him; Mido? McCarthy? What are they going to offer us up front. Bugger all I'm afraid.

Jesus. The first three names are incredibly depressing. And never mind the sh!te football under Curbishley but he has also just sued us for 2.5 million quid (I've said this before so apologies for the rant) Alan Curbishley should not be welcomed back in the door with open arms. My list would be 1. Give Zola another chance 2. Grant 3. Bilic or maybe Pards 4. NEVER EVER EVER McClaren, Hoddle, Curbishley or Mark Hughes...EVER.
