We did what worked back in the 50's and 60's, before teachers organized and unions became the controllers of education at all levels. When I went to school standards were higher, grading tougher. Heck it was considered CHEATING to have any formal study guide for an SAT or ACT (college boards) exam and you didn't earn 400 points for spelling your name correctly. Back then, classrooms were routinely filled with 30-40 students every day and teachers managed them. The rotten eggs were rare and children were taught to respect the adults in charge. More than anything, teachers were teaching, not indoctrinating.

I agree...this is always about money and power for an elitist class in the end.

I agree! Yet somehow, a nation of people taxed on average for all programs at the federal, state and local level to the tune of 25-55% nationwide, are being scolded by the Progressive Left for not doing enough most of the time. That real tax rate even includes the 47% that pay no federal income tax (they still usually pay state, local and payroll taxes). My reminder to the do-nothing-but-whine on the left that appreciate Marx more than Jefferson is this - "We remember the Jefferson era group were pissed off enough over a 3% tax on breakfast food and big British Government to toss the bums off the continent or at least into Canada. There are places for today's Tories (big-Euro-tax & spend liberals) to go. So go! Don't let the boarder patrol kick you on the ass as you leave. Of course we aren't tolerant! This guy and I will be happy to wave Bye Bye!

Excellent point and perhaps quite true.

To what low level of reason does a writer blog these days? Personally, I've never met anyone that wanted something "banned" or "boycotted" unless they were decidedly leftist (among the big names in that category Hitler, Lenin, Stalin, Marx, Trotsky all come to mind). Conservatives are in fact open minded. That we appreciate one film and not others by the same film-maker is no different than if we appreciate one Warhal painting but find the poster of a Campbell's Soup can to be stupid and bordering on plagiarism of some form. Unionization of teachers and virtually all government workers of any kind is a slap in the collective face of the private sector employees who pay their salaries. If the gig wasn't so lucrative, government workers would not seek jobs and security there and then organize to enslave the real producers in private commerce. To whatever end the film portrays this collectivist nonsense, Hooray! It is about time and call me whatever you like, I think unions are for bullies and teacher's unions have NOTHING to do with educating children....indoctrinating maybe, but not education.

I have news for the IMF, the UN and any other internationals grab my wallet organization. YOU ARE NOT CRITICALLY IMPORTANT TO ME. I believe I speak for most of the non-communist balance of Americans - roughly 270 million of us. NEWS FLASH - once we get control of Congress, our mantra will be repeal, remove, de-fund, kick-out, close up, cut-off, terminate and pair back the federal government and all involvement in international bailout institutions with an objective of immediacy that will shock the hell out of Democommunistsacrats, Republicrats and anyone else that gets in the way of our dismantling BIG-GOVERNMENT... except for this site which we all love. The MARXIST party is over dudes.

15 years ago @ Big Government - Sort of missing in the entire commentary is the overall dig at FOX NEWS which did not air anything about the affair until AFTER the Glenn beck Show and over thirty minutes after the President's office had announced she had been fired. Now we know that for all her penitent talk, her husband and her have been highly active in what would appear to most people to be extremely racist and discriminatory politics (See the New American Thinker Article available by link from this web-site).

Any contention that FOX is at fault for anything flies completely in the face of the time-line and any contention that AB is at fault has to rest completely on proof that he was in anyway attempting to put Ms. Sherrod in a negative light out of context - and proving that will be nigh unto impossible if he has electronic forensic proof (fairly easily obtained) otherwise. After reading about her recent past (last decade) and her husband and political activities during the last ten years, I would say she and he are guite eloquent in espousing quite racially divisive speech and apears not at all penitent. While she may have helped poor white farmers equally, her long standing activism says she is still fairly racially biased and that is sad.

To be honest, I can understand much of the internal disgust Black-Americans may have over their enslaved heritage. Who wouldn't be pissed off. But the other more imperative and present reality is, White, Latino, Asian and Native Americans all have their historical crosses to bear and I know of no one of any of those groups that now or ever did enslave anyone. Americans obsessed with the now distant past need to get out of the negative victim role. No white person today enslaved anyone. Nobody in my family ever enslaved anyone. While there are still people of all backgrounds with racially ugly views, they are truly few in numbers these days, especially among white America.

The fact is, we U.S. citizens and legal emigrants intending to stay are ALL Americans first and if we would stop allowing one particular political party (the party of the a$$) subdivide and Balkinize us, we could get back to being the greatest nation on earth like we were before the progressive left came along to divide us up and judge us for the colors of our skin and not the content of our character as the Great Dr. King wished. .

Did the moderator need a four generation chart. I suggest he/she contact my genealogically gifted number 1 daughter who can provide any details..... the fact is, my family is so racially mixed, we think race politics is a ridiculous red hearing used to deflect people from the real issues. While we are not all conservatives by party affiliation (mom is a democrat, voted for the big-O and Clinton twice), we do lean to the right, all 57 varieties of us.

I recently discovered that in my four generation family, comprised of Hispanics (Spaniards and Mexicans), Blacks, French, Native Americans, Poles, Swedes, Russian Jews, English, Philipino's and Lapps that we as a family are truly American in every way you can imagine. Having said that, we have all decided that we must be one big racist happy family because none of us can find a single Italian in extended circles.... though we all universally love Italian Food and Frank Sinatra. We want to grovel and openly apologize to Italians everywhere for not finding anyone of boot descent within our ranks and ask you to forgive us. My gay adopted son also asks your forgiveness.

Inasmuch as we do have Roman Catholics (along w/ Lutherans, Buddhists, Mormons and Jews) mixed into the closed-nit family group; we were kind of hoping Italians would cut us some slack and let us become an honorary member of an Italian Family somewhere out there. After-all the family's marinara sauces, seven different pastas, Caesar salads, piscatta dishes and garlic toast recipes are to die for - so even though we aren't Italian, we sure as heck can cook as if we hailed from San Remo or Florence.

Oh and if you disagree with me, you are probably a pasta hating homophobes that secretly cross dresses anyway and thinks Obamacare is a skin ointment.
