I believe most women are more religious/spiritual than men because women are natural nurturers, maternal and more open to love. That's why some women can fall in love quicker than men because their hearts are bent toward love. They desire to love and be loved by someone so a relationship with an all-loving God can more quickly become a reality, even if they can't see Him or Her--depending on the faith tradition. Whereas men are very rational creatures so the chances of them being open to religion and spirituality based on something unseen doesn't jibe well with them. Just a thought...

I just wanted to thank you for this series. I downloaded the first part of the 100 Life Goals series on iTunes last night and I was really blessed by it. Now, I actually have to find the time to sit down and start writing down my goals and stop living day to day, month to month, check to check, etc, etc. (Isn't it crazy that still in the midst of knowing what you ought to do, you somehow still must find the time to do the right thing. Or maybe I need to just dive right in and stop waiting for perfect timing.) Your ministry through this blog and Courageous Church has been a blessing to me and I am definitely endeavouring to spread this message to as many people as I can. Thanks for letting Him use you.

Awesome post. I've been thinking a lot about this song since I heard it. I even went as far as to re-write the chorus because I, like you, and many others feel that Drake has it all wrong. My rewrite said, "I seek the kingdom not the money and the cars, cars and the clothes, the h*#$. I just wanna seek, I just wanna seek His kingdom." I told some people this, young people who I go to church with, and they practically laughed me out of the room. But I was as serious as a heart attack because I felt like he is giving people the wrong formula to success. And even if he is talking about the industry's definition of success and not wanting it, he is actually buying into himself. I think we get fooled into thinking these rappers are being deep and conscious just because their lyrics seem antithetical to the industry but it's not the lyrics we need to follow, it's their lives. It's similar to how we as Christians may know the Bible front to back, but if we don't have a life that is a reflection of the word inside of us, it doesn't matter.

I commend your effort to combat moral failure by any means necessary.

I know you are a praying man. And as such, I have to believe that you must continually take this feeling that being alone with women will cause you to fall. I think, at this point, particularly because of your work in ministry, that you will have to pray for heavy discernment. That way, God will endow you with the ability to separate the women who are about His business and the one's who are just trying to be about yours.

This is about discernment. Yes, it's true, you should never place yourself in the position where temptation might grab a hold of you, but also don't put yourself in the prison of doubting the power vested in you through God to help you withstand any temptation. Discernment will take you a long way in this and you'll soon be separting the wheat from the chaff. It might mean you have an all-male team but don't sell yourself short by continually speaking this fear out. God is in control of it all and as long as you continue to be lead by your spirit and not your flesh, it will be alright.

Awesome post. It's such a great reminder that none of us are too far from falling. Last night, my Bible Study teacher brought us back to Romans 3:23-24, "For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous." And that's the really awesome part, God still considers Gary righteous and loves him no less for his sin just as he loves us no less for the sins we commit on a daily basis. I will keep him in my prayers and the community surrounding him because that will also be the challenging part. While God will have forgiven him, people will hold this against him so we must pray that this message reaches far and wide and people don't thrown any stones. Thanks Shaun for this post.
