Oh, wow! Thank you, kindly! I appreciate it so very much, even though it made me blush! : -)

Precisely, Bill. Particularly that this seems to be the result of that whole "sexual empowerment" search for some nebulously defined equality deal.

Thank you.

PS

Basically, I don't care IF she formula fed. I was only concerned with her reasons *why*. Okay done :)

Yeah, see that's why it annoyed me that most articles I saw about this broad were framed as a breast feeding v. formula feeding deal. That seriously wasn't my point. I think what you went through is awful and I think that the grossed out looks breast feeders get (and believe me, we do. I did A LOT) is awful as well.

I'm just ticked by the fact that all this "empowerment" made women prefer to be purely sex objects, with their alleged sexuality (alleged because nursing moms are still sexy, dammit) held in higher regard than motherhood itself.

Yeah, no. It still is. I used to get funny looks ALL the time and constant "You're STILL breastfeeding?" with like an "eww" face made at me.

That said, I was only trying to point out the idiocy of her "creepy" and "fun bags" comments. I don't care that she formula fed; her choice (a real kind). It is her reasons for it that I think are so sad and so harmful to women as a whole.

Oh, I know. I was trying to agree with your comment to the above, heh. Darn threaded comments :)

Yes, her judgment as an editor of a parenting magazine also has to be called into question. I just found the whole thing so depressing. Is that really what motherhood has now been reduced to? Worrying more about your "fun bags"? By *their own* choosing?

P.S.

Thanks!

Yep. I'm not going to judge her choice because I don't like when people judge mine, particulary parenting choices :D However, I **will** judge the **reasons** for her choice. Her reasons truly epitomize the damage that the "sexual empowerment" as equality movement have done. Believing that embracing your female body, including it's nurturing capacity to provide sustenance, is somehow creepy because your breasts should be used for amusements only is so, so damaging.

Great post!

I moved down to SC five years ago, but I'm a Jersey girl born and raised. *fist pump*

Spent many a summer down the shore. Most times, at Seaside Heights (shout out to Lucky Leo's).

While I almost heard the sound of four sets of horse hoof beats when I saw Sen McCain's tweet to Snooki, I now think it's awesome. And hilarious.
