I remember meeting you :) Thanks for pointing out the online presence audit. "Google yourself" should be added to the list. I even developed a virtual CV so my resume contained multi-media and lived online. Paper resumes are so last millennium!

Thanks for chiming in - great additions!

This is the most common misunderstanding of social networking that I encounter. Online activity doesn't effectively substitute for meeting people in person.

Thanks for stopping by to comment!

I'm humbled by your kind and complimentary words, Brandon. Getting to know you has truly been a pleasure.

"Social media is, at its best, a catalyst for connecting people in the real world." Indeed.

Thanks!

Thanks for stopping by here, Taylor! You're incredibly expressive in so many ways and I'm happy to live in a world where it's easy for you to spread your light. Even though both long for simpler times now and then ;)

Yeah, no kidding - like deciding between washing my kids clothes and writing a post. If they have clean socks, I'm writing.

How exciting! Nice to hear I'm not the only one who lays in bed at night thinking about things I want to write about.

I think you hit on a point many miss: bringing in the mainstream has positive impact as well as possible negatives. Those lawyers need you, Jayne! They're lucky to have people like you out there.

"The boredom of insiders" - astute observation. Whatever the reason, I hope people are not discounting the impact of online efforts because of a few vocal naysayers. People like to share and interact. The vehicles will evolve but the premise is here to stay.

Great points, Steve - "show, don't tell" is what my editors have always told me. And for good reason. Thanks for adding your always-more-than two cents.
