NATO is still a valid collective security agreement to defend against -RUSSIAN- aggression, which was its original purpose, as well as to keep Germany from sliding eastwards in its own loyalties. However...

Turkey's presence in NATO has been dead ever since the EU refused Turkey's joining and they refused to allow coalition forces access to Iraq from their territory, and Erdoan is clearly not interested in the black sea, but displacing Saudi Arabia as the regional powerbroker in the Middle East.

Good riddance.

Haha, how freaking stupid of Turkey. Did they think Greece, their second most hated enemy, would just sit around idly while the Turks go on a big genitalia-wielding spree across the Middle East? It's going to be quite a shock when Israeli F-16's are dropping bombs on Istanbul by way of Greek airbases.
