GeekTyrant : AKIRA Live-Action Movie Project is Alive and Well

Face it. It will star Toby McGuire or some such actor nobody wants to see in this film and will be set in New York. The bikes will be changed to Harleys and when the gang goes out for a drink it will be Pepsi or Coke... whoever pays more.

GeekTyrant : RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE Is Going Into Production

Let's go back many many years... I was sitting in my room. Lights off and controller in my hand. It was cold winter in Michigan so I am curled up in my blanket over the heat vent. I am playing the first Resident Evil. It was cool and creepy. I was doing pretty well. I go into a room. It is empty of creatures and I can see into the next room through a glass window. There is something on the table over there. So I move into the hall, halk into the other room to find that the window was a 2-way mirror. I slowly walk to the table... reaching for the item... when... CRASH! A licker jumps through the glass and I almost pee myself a little. I want a Resident Evil movie that can do that. From the games or not.

GeekTyrant : THE LAST AIRBENDER Promo Poster and Character Headshots

Right. I can understand that. An expectation was set and now that is being altered. At least the previews give the impression that it won't be another Dragonball movie. I guess my thing is after seeing and hearing the actors. I think Aang and Zuko are cast perfect for the darker tone of the movie vs the cartoon. After looking into it, it's Katara and Sokka that may have been poor choices. That being said... WHERE IS UNCLE?

Ok, no rude comments about who is playing who. Noah Ringer looks good as Aang and is skilled enough to pull off the martial arts. Dev Patel as Zuko looks good and while not as dark as in the animation, the scar looks good too (which was a fear from the first picture I saw). Jackson Rathbone and Nicola Peltz as Sokka and Katara? Ok, clearly they do not have the completion of their Animated counterparts. I think my big hope here is that we can see the great movie from the director of the Sixth Sense and Unbreakable while avoiding the fail director that did The Village... The actors will be fine... it's the director that scares me. And really... can't be as disappointing as X-Men Origins: Wolverine. (which I liked a little but all in all was not good)

lol that's what I wanted... someone to say it's "The Asian names, fashion, diet, architecture, religion, philosophy, ideologies, martial arts, calligraphy, folklore, mythology and eating utensils..." Hate to break it to ya boss but by that standard most of the Asians I know are Caucasian and I know a few Caucasians who are Black, and a few blacks who are Asian... So I guess if all you have to do to star in Avatar is have The Asian names, fashion, diet, architecture, religion, philosophy, ideologies, martial arts, calligraphy, folklore, mythology and eating utensils... Then by all rights the last Airbender should be black? It's a damn good thing no one cares if the movie is going to be good or not. EDIT: And dammit... they seriously need to make sure you are sure you want to delete a post before just scratching it.
