Breitbart.tv : Jeb Bush: Wonders If He's Conservative Because GOP Debates Are ‘A Little Troubling’

You'll not get much support here, sadly. Few of these posters have taken the time to intellectually examine RP's foreign policy positions. Best support I have found for Ron Paul's policies are to be found in Machievelli's discussions on the causes of war, and Switzerland's ability to stay out of war for 150+ years with a policy similar to RP's. The Federalist Papers, as well as George Washington's ability to keep us out of European Wars, using RP's strategy, even when we were a new & weak nation, are further justification. It's much easier to use Alinskyiite ridicule to justify your preconceptions than it is to think, much to the detriment of humanity.

Some more specificity could be instructive, so other posters can evaluate whether your statement has merit, and change accordingly if you're correct.

Agreed. Example - Bill Kristol of the weekly standard is always identified by Rush as being a RINO, and about as "establishment" a conservative as you can get. Yet he, like Rush, despises Romney & supports Santorum, despite Rush's protestations that the "establishment" is trying to "force" Romney on us, and that we should rebel to send them a message. Ironically, last election cycle, Rush promoted Romney as the conservative alternative to Mccain. I think Rush uses such terms somewhat recklessly to describe those he disagrees with, and this behavior filters down to the average conservative. Good analogy about RINO being the "Racist" of the right!

Breitbart.tv : Santorum Blasts Obama’s ‘Phony Theology…Not Based On Bible’

That's a scary thought! I hadn't considered that, nothing riles up a liberal like a "bible beater." I read a Dick Morris column which stated that traditionally you get out the republican vote by playing up the religious / social issues, but the tea party supposedly changed that. P.S. Are you an atheist/agnostic mom?

I agree. Catholicism can be quite Statist in nature, as Santorum is beginning to reveal. Evidence is the backwards Middle Ages, stifled by religious restrictions on freedom / thought. Theocracy is no better than socialism. His idea for encouraging families are particularly disturbing as they suggest that a family should not be viewed as a means for personal happiness, but for the benefit of the state & society. Hate to use a tortured analogy, but it does remind me of certain aspects of Nazi social policy, such as giving mothers medals for putting out a certain number of children. On the other hand if a Catholic community wants to hand out similar rewards for strong families, that will be good for them, but it certainly falls out of the scope of government policy. Just as government should not pick winners and loser in economics, nor should it pick them in the realm of morality, except when someone else's rights are violated. I find Romney far less scary than Santorum. Never thought I'd say that, but Santorum will only become worse if he comes into power. A simple jump in the polls has emboldened him to the point where he is giving us a glimpse of his true nature.

You have been soundly defeated. You don't have facts or reason, so you resort to ridicule and ad hominem. When reason is not available, most human beings resort to force and bullying. I don't even need to know the context of the argument to realize you've been trounced. Though I do.

Breitbart.tv : Tebowmania! All Eyes On NFL Match-Up

Well yes, but as any pastafarian would know, the giant spaghetti monster is only 4 times more powerful than the christian god. So the score SHOULD have been 40-10, BUT, we have to account for the witches' rituals to bless Brady, and witches are 0.5 times as powerful as the christian god, which bumped the score up to 45-10.

I hate to appear to be rooting for someone's misfortune, BUT Now perhaps we can return to judging men & women based on their achievements/accomplishments as individuals, rather than some collectivist notion that he is a good man by default b/c of his religiosity.

Breitbart.tv : Paul Claims Victory For The Cause Of Liberty

I actually don't think it's the RP supporters that have made enemies. Granted he attracts some loons, but he also attracts a great number of serious minded individuals that want to give freedom a shot. RP annoys Neocons b/c his positions take them out of their comfort zone, and require them to think. Most people dislike thinking, and respond with bullying & aggression. You can see this in the above comments. Your point about not accomplishing anything is correct, I believe, in the traditional sense of viewing a congressman. I believe he might have been more effective if he had actively converted others to his way of thinking. He is constantly re-elected, howeve, meaning his constituents agree that his strategy best represents their interest. However, I think he's always had the problem of not being particularly charismatic. On the other hand, he has not compromised his principles, which makes it easy for others to rally around him. I think RP would be nothing if it weren't for the level of enthusiasm his principled approach engenders. Congress encourages a pragmatic approach & thinking short term, as this increases congressmen's power. Let me ask it in another way... if some man was part of the nazi party, and did everything he could to stop the final solution, but failed b/c he was only one voice, would you say he accomplished nothing? I wonder if above scenario is more appropriate in assessing his career. We are nearing the end of the progressive era, after all, RP was a lone voice for many years. Also don't forget - we're talking about his policies right now. That is the primary reason he runs. Has he accomplished nothing as a congressman? Perhaps. Has he accomplished nothing as a politician and rallying point of a powerful political movement in America? You bet. Anyway, I appreciate your rational criticism. Much better than we normally receive @ breitbart.

No. We're just tired of people like yourself that prefer to attack & bully then present rational arguments. We understand thinking might take you out of your comfort zone, but your attacks will engender counterattack.
