This reads like an event report or intro brochure. Lacks specifics, focus or human story. The disjointed postscript does not save this piece from benility.
Malaysia has not done so badly. It could have done better, we could have a higher per capital income by now if the money from the oil was put to better effect.
But we have done better than most non white colonial countries. We could have been Burma or India. And it is a good thing the Malays dominate the economy now. They would have as much to lose as anyone else if the country goes belly up. The Malays are the most educated community in the country, at some point they will realise that it is their choices that will decide the fate of the country, and they have nothing to fear and everything to gain from a more prosperous country.
Yes, you are right. Chinese also prospered under Umno. Even with the NEP, money do flow through the economy, it just starts out in the hands of a Bumi. Zaid is wrong, the country will go bankrupt even if the Chinese continue their economic effort in the country. Remember, the money starts out in the Bumi's hands. Over the decades since independence, there have been a growing number of Bumi hands. Unfortunately, not all of it move through our economy, more and more is spirited overseas into properties and hidden bank accounts. In time there will not be enough to satisfy all them out stretched hands.
You are so right. The chinese businessman are serving more and more Malay consumers, even exclusively Malay markets. The Malays are the dominant economic community in the country. Since more than half of the country GDP is government funded, it would be natural that the Malays are the most dominant economically. GLCs already make up more than 45% of the country's capital market. So no worries, Malays will continue to dominate both the political and economic sphere in this country.
No worries, the chinese are leaving the country. Those who could, have, and those that couldn't wouldn't give you much problems. The Bumi only contracts, monopolies and GLC the government has setup will ensure Malay dominance for decades to come. So sleep easy that your rights and privileges will be preserved.
Lets just call a spade a spade. The minister of education is anti-christian ! And because he is still the minister after all this publicity, the government is anti-christian !
Construction may be single digit profit but developers are like triple digit profits. I guess government owned GLCs will forgo the huge profits to help the nation. UEM, Sime, MRCB, Gamuda ..... and the lot of government linked companies are the nation's biggest property developers.
I don't think BN still exist and Umno is a Malay Only party which makes the government a ....... So Utusan, what more do you want ?
Seriously? Mr Deputy Minister. Get your facts right. Kuala Lumpur is a opposition state, 10 out 11 KL MPs are opposition representatives. The KL mayor should be a Pakatan man.
Politics or Law ? What does our Malaysia Police stands for ?
