As a conservative lesbian, I think our Sarah gave a very smart reply to the CPAC question. Winning elections is about building successful coalitions. And as others here have noted, if we expect to win big in 2012, we better be one heck of a unified force.

And just a personal note...If I as a lesbian woman can vote for candidates who do not support gay marriage or the repeal of DADT, and do so for the overall good of my country at the expense of my personal civil rights, well then, I think straight conservatives can somehow manage to attend a political conference that includes gays and lesbians. Geez.

There are many gays and lesbians who support the FDA ban on gay men giving blood. And I'm one of them. Unfortunately, the voices of those of us who speak out for common sense and public safety over the me-first and me-only agenda of Gay, Inc. are hardly ever heard.
