Hi Kim, I should have specified that it's a DVD, a documentary on Norman Mailer, and not a book. However, he wrote over 60 books so the film might also touch on that.

Hey Kathryn,
Thanks for answering my question. I googled it after I saw mention of it on your post and I found a lot of info on it. Wow...

Hi Del,

Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment!

The publishing companies have teams of designers that work specifically on their book covers and design the cover with the audience in mind. It seems to me that your target audience is boys, and like I said, my son thought the cover just fine. However, if you also want girls to read your book, then some might be turned off by the cover, like my daughter, even though she really enjoyed reading the book with me. As a mom, I thought the cover cute, but then again...I'm only the mom.

Also, if you are going to invest in self-publishing, never ever skip out on the services of an editor. You are a talented writer to be sure, but editors are the ones that make the writing tighter and polish up a book. They are indispensable in helping you produce a book that will stand up to any published traditionally.

I appreciate your honest review. Although I like dystopian, I will pass on this one.
