I really don't care who wins in any category except Best Supporting Actor: If Christoph Waltz doesn't walk out of the Kokak Theatre with an Oscar, I'll be mighty disappointed. Unlike Ralph Fiennes, who played Amon Goeth as pure evil, Waltz brings a charm and giddiness to the "Jew Hunter" that makes him doubly frightening.

On second thought, I'd really like to see Colin Firth win Best Actor. He really immersed himself into the character and did an outstanding job.

I completely agree ... wouldn't it be great to see the look on Cameron's face!

To me *probably because of my age* Gene Hackman will always be the preacher in "The Poseidon Adventure". Yes, I know he made so many wonderful movies, but as a child I couldn't believe he would drop himself into the vat of boiling oil to save the others.

He also voiced one of my favorite lines in any movie: "The Duck of Death". (Unforgiven).

Another delightful discourse, Zo! I love to share your insights with my family, especially my teenagers. Then end up nodding in agreement, whether intentionally or not!

Keep rockin' those rants, Zo.

Working for CBS in the early 1980's I was lucky enough to have access to concert tickets for LA's Universal Amphitheatre. It was a fairly small venue, not a bad seat in the house.

The concert I have enjoyed the most in my life ~among the hundreds I've seen~ was the night Eric Clapton played the UA. Just after the lights went down and the fans were screaming, a couple was escorted to their seats one row in front and two seats to the left of me --Eddie Van Halen and Valerie Bertinelli.

Listening to Clapton, and watching EVH *watch* Clapton, was AWESOME. <sorry, flashback to '80's>

Everyone in my (really small) family falls to the right, so there is no familial divide for me. We just talk and shake our heads at the idiocy of the left.

Believe it or not, I am glad Obama was elected President. Had McCain won, it would simply put a RINO in the Oval Office and give the left another 4 or 8 years of whining while still getting what they want.

Obama has brought out the latent conservative in many, many people and with his socialist leanings, 2012 should give us a real CONSERVATIVE leader.

Remember, Carter gave us Reagan. Let's pray that happens again.

"The right wing loves peace and freedom enough to fight for it."

Beyond brilliant.

I love you, Zo!!!!

Anything for a buck.

I'll bet she can't even name the Vice President of the United States.

To enjoy a movie, I need it to have interesting dialogue that moves the story along, such as in "Inglorious Basterds". If I just want to watch action, I will turn on a John Woo film without subtitles. When every other word is the "F" word, as in "Goodfellas", the characters really have nothing to say.

I don't get all the praise for "Goodfellas". I'm not a Pollyanna, but I found all the profanity completely distracting.
