http://kstp.com/ : Police: Richfield Doctor Prescribed Drugs in Hopes of Sex | KSTP TV - Minneapolis and St. Paul

KSTP erroneously reported that there have been 8 disciplinary actions against Dr. Harvanko. Their reporter is either sloppy or lazy. While the MN Board of Medical Practice lists 8 public actions, the actions arose out of two sets of disciplinary facts, not 8. A quick perusal of the MN Board of Medical Practice lists disciplinary actions against many doctors. Why are they not on the news? Sounds like a slow news day for KSTP or maybe someone has it out for this particular doctor...perhaps a DA who wants to look like a hero? This doctor already gave up his license, which is the typical punishment for doctors who are accused of overprescribing. 30 years in jail is not going to make Minnesota any safer since he can no longer prescribe medication.

Big Hollywood : Sunbathing Naked (Day One)

Beck also believes in distorting the truth and rewriting history. David Barton is a joke. If people are relying on Glenn Beck, a drop out, to teach them history, this country is doomed.

SayAnythingBlog.com : Good Grief: Obama Administration Reconsiders Sherrod Firing

You asked me to give examples of Breitbart's intellectual dishonesty. I gave examples of his intellectual dishonesty. ACORN is one of those examples. The Sherrod tape is one of those examples. He used a clip out of context to show that the NAACP was racist, but that's not what the tape actually showed. Editing a tape to make a false point is not relevance -- that's propaganda. Since you choose to be deliberately obtuse and claim that this is all subjective (it's not), I walked you through it like a child. If you want to take offense, so be it. Conservatives are good at feighned indignation.

California investigated ACORN and no wrongdoing was found because the tape was heavily edited. Same here. He released an edited clip which taken out of context to show racism when in fact the unedited version showed just the opposite.

He is intellectually dishonest. What he does is no different than what the right accuses Michael Moore of doing. He edits his material to illustrate a point that would not be there if the material was see in context.

Apparently you are entitled to pick your own facts because that's what your did. Tell the whole story. Not everyone is as uneducated as you apparently believe they are. FACTS: 1. Rutherford B Hayes, a REPUBLICAN sells out black Americans in the compronise of 1877 to insure his presidency, giving rise to the KKK and Jim Crow law. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compromise_of_1877 2. Northern Democrats and Republicans supported civil rights legislation while Southern Democrats and Reublicans opposed it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_Rights_Act_of_... 3. Republicans employ "southern strategy" to recruit racist Southern Democrats .http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_strategy As I said, conservatives are intellectually dishonest. SInce you cited wikipedia as a source I used it as well. I'd love hear how it's become a biased liberal source since you made your post.

Some of my friends (who way more to the left than I) were discussing the tea party. They felt it was incumbent upon Democrats and the left to listen to the tea party and try to understand them. The felt that if the tea party were not marginalized by the left they would come to the table and try to work together. I asked them (1) if they'd even talked to any tea party members (I have) and (2) if they were stoned. Tea party members don't care what democrats and the left think of them. They are convinced that they are 100% right and know it all. They don't respond to facts or reason. They are not interested in reaching consensus. Any focus on the tea party by the left, other than pointing out the flaws in their platform, would be a complete waste of time.

Oh, I am not new to the internet. Back when I was a young attorney I belonged to a local forum where things got personal. Say my screen name was "Mrs_Smith"..I deliberately used something really common. Someone who knew me accidentally posted to me by my real first name (I'll pretend it's Melissa). In my jurisdiction, unfortunately there happened to be an attorney named Melissa Smith. The wingnuts gleefully proclaimed that they had reported me to my employer for posting online during work hours and that I was going to lose my job, etc. They also looked up this woman's address and posted it and bragged about driving by what they thought was my house and how I'd better watch my back. So a totally innocent woman got harrassed by wingnuts because they disagreed with what I was posting. Believe me, I know their tricks.

You noticed that too. When he tried to be a legitimate right wing pundit his ratings were low and Jon Stewart mocked him, so now he's modeling himself off of Limbaugh and the other extremists. His small shred of credibility is gone. I heard him subbing for Dennis Miller recently and perpetuating the false Jones Act story and feigning outrage. Now Tucker is a smart guy so I know he knows better. It's sad to see someone completely sell out to try to be liked.

Only a moron would say that an article full of quotes from the actual architect of the southern strategy talking about the southern strategy isn't evidence. Furthermore, only a moron would say that the head of the RNCs recent admission that the RNC employed a racist southern strategy isn't evidence.
My understanding of the unemployment extension is that it's not coming out of the pockets of the employers. Uncle Sam is 100% picking up the tab on these, which, again, I'm torn. I know people are desperate, but with no job creation in site, it seems unsustainable.

I agree that governent spending needs to be cut, but neither party seems willing to make the tough choices. Government employees are voters and neither party wants to kick voters out of a job in a down economy. All I've heard from Republican politicians is they plan to slow spending. That's not the same as making cuts. How can you light a fire under politicians? I don't know. I'm torn on the minimum wage. In theory, if you live in a small town and you want to stay in that small town and the employer wants to stay in that town, but the only way to keep his business viable is pay you $5.00 per hour, and you think that's enough to survive, why should anyone stand in the way? On the other hand, you have a big corporation like Wal-Mart who has the means to pay $10 an hour, but chooses to pay $5.00 an hour because they hear that people in that town are willing to work for $5,00 which increases their profits, I see it as kind of wage exploitation. Now you could say that people have a choice about whether they will work for $5.00, but they don't because that's the only employer.

Thanks for the detailed response. I've only been around since last Friday, so no, I have not seen these ideas before. Your admin can verify that. I made the point that free trade was a part of the problem. If a boat has 5 big holes and one little one, you can't fix the big ones and leave the little one. The boat will still sink. I contend that NAFTA did cause job losses, but those displaced were able to find other employment so for awhile it was a wash. Now that the economy has tanked those workers have been displaced a second time with no employment options. I don't think repealing NAFTA is the answer, but you have to figure out a way to keep jobs from leaving. Prorectionism is too extreme but really, if we export more jobs than we create can't you see where that is a problem?
