Krykee. Oliver is veering dangerously close to Gore Vidal nutjob territory.

"Hitler 'enabled by Western bankers.'" Oh noes! Not BANKERS. Especially Western Bankers.

Hey, Oliver. Last I looked Germany was IN the West and long part of the West's engine of Money, Industry, Science, Religion and Politics - for, oh, I don't know - the last 400 YEARS!

A war weary world, after WW1, was in no mood to confront a rabidly revived, militaristic Germany. Just ask your progressive buddy, Woodrow Wilson(D) who probably facilitated the ramp up to WW2 more than "Western bankers."

Why don't you just speak plain and blame Bush, already?

Who are we to judge? Our Lefty leaders say we must respect the multi-culturalism.

Of course, yarmulkes are issued for male police officers to enter Jewish synagogues, and scarfs are issued for women officers to enter Catholic churches, and pentagrams for all to enter a Wiccan coven, and ankhs must be worn to enter Egyptian goddess temples, and....

Man. This PC cr@p is getting expensive! And INSUFFERABLE.

We all know that if Islam wasn't such an aggressively malignant ideology that seeks to overwhelm its host where ever it can - this would not even be in the U.K.'s public arena.

God bless Geert Wilders. You Brits could learn a thing or two from that man.

Very good anecdotal story, Mr. Avrech, consider the subject was misapplied by our Dear Leader recently. I just have a few perturbances to bring up - for your benefit and Dear Leader's.

1) The Post Office has been private corporation since 1971, and receives no tax dollars, thanks to Richard Nixon(R). It is gub'mint regulated, though, and infected with union bloat & headaches.

2) Instead of cross country airline transport of a simple task, go to the local Kinkos, do your business, and avoid the wrath of Aunt Ethel (which happens to be my Mother's name).

3) I've never heard of Richard & Linda. Delaney & Bonnie, maybe, but not Richard & Linda. Or Christine.

4)Great photo. God bless your family.

"The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp" is great amusement and highly entertaining! The film offers a great look into the pre-war (both of them) cultural attitudes in Europe.

Bonus: a very hot Deborah Kerr's film debut?

Bring popcorn. Two thumbs up!
