Insightful and accurate analysis. In his time in the Senate, Rick Santorum was an enthusiastic supporter of all manner of big spending, impractical government programs.

The question right now is which is more likely to govern as a true fiscal conservative: Santorum or Romney?

It is not just that they are coordinating their messages. The worst aspect to all this is that we have a government/media echo chamber, and very few of those on the "inside" ever have to grapple with ideas alien to them. Not surprisingly, they are unable to comprehend what limited government supporters are talking about, and cannot engage in any sort of productive dialogue.

The right and center-right cannot rely on the mainstream media to fairly communicate its vision to the public.

Limited government, financial responsiblity, hard work, good jobs and devotion to family and community is a winning message. But if conservatives don't get it out there and show voters they are ready, able and willing to walk the walk, they'll lose in November.

Great analysis. Conservatives need to explain to the mainstream media and to voters that Democrats in Congress think they are above the law.

I hope you are right, but I'm concerned that many Americans are not paying careful attention to the OWS movement, and so do not realize just how toxic their rhetoric is.

Excellent article. Quite a few Republicans, including Bachus, are now liabilities for the conservative movement and need to step down. That is not to say that Bachus and other don't deserve our gratitude for their public service, of course. But when members of Congress lose their effectiveness it's time for them to move on.

Superb reporting. I'm saddened (but not surprised) at the lack of in depth coverage of this "settlement" by the mainstream media.

Bull's eye! Republicans need to stand in the vanguard of reform, or they will shred their credibility with voters.

A lot of what Romney has said and done is frustrating for fiscal conservatives, but right now he looks like the nation's best hope for getting back on a steady track of economic growth and job creation.

Do I wish Paul Ryan or Mitch Daniels would enter the race? Absolutely! But I never lose sight of just how big an improvement President Romney would be over our incumbent President.

What we know about the business dealings of the Pelosi family raises serious concerns that Nancy Pelosi has misused her government position. At the very least, Nancy Pelosi needs to put her assets in a blind trust.
