NASA Study Acknowledges Solar Cycle, Not Man, Responsible for Past Warming
Jct: No kidding. Someone should tell Alynona Minkivsky on RT that maybe she should stop laughing at people who say human doings are inconsequential compared to the sun!

now considered a domestic terrorist if you use silver as currency – Liberty Dollar creator convicted in federal court.__Jct: He wasn't convicted for using silver, he was convicted for making his coins look like US money. Ithaca Hours, Berkshire Berkshares, Pittsboro Plentys, they're alternate currencies that didn't get busted because there's no question they don't look like US cash. His did. He incurred government wrath, he gets what he deserves. Given the other successful models, he was an idiot to make his look like the real thing. I think his purpose was to bring the alternative currency movement into disrepute. But there's no way merely using silver is the reason he was convicted. If he'd put Mickey Mouse on his coins, I'd bet he have had no problems.__

Jct: If they sound like real money and look like real money, they're looking for trouble. Community currencies that don't look like official money are legal, those that do are being prosecuted like Liberty Dollars. Fools. They incurrred the government's wrath for nothing. Ithaca Hours has been working for decades with no problems!

"Kilrea – this “serious” politician, as Hutchinson would have it – ran for every office going, and could give John Turmel a run for his Guiness Book of World Record holding money, as far as consecutive losses. Federal, provincial, municipal – you name it"

Jct: Excuse me but with a mission like abolishing interest rates and giving everyone an interest-free credit card, Terry's not even in the same league as 69-elections John "King of the Fringe" Turmel.

Jct: There’s nothing wrong with small denomination California State IOUs if anyone can pay their taxes with them. When Argentina’s government workers were faced with cuts, their unions talked 6 state governments into paying them with small-denomination state bonds which could be used to pay for state services and taxes by everyone.
When the local currency is pegged to the Time Standard of Money (how many dollars per unskilled hour child labor) Hours earned locally can be intertraded with other timebanks globally! In 1999, I paid for 39/40 nights in Europe with an IOU for a night back in Canada worth 5 Hours. U.N. Millennium Declaration UNILETS Resolution C6 to governments is for a time-based currency to restructure the global financial architecture.

Too bad California IOUs won’t be accepted in payment for state taxes and services like state bonds were in Argentina. Too bad California IOUs will be denominated too big to use as local currency. Too bad Argentina people were smart enough to avoid the tent-cities catastrophe and California people are too stupid to follow their example.
If they make IOUs legal tender, I take it all back.

""Why do we have to be told to support local business? Shouldn't it always be that way? This way jobs DO stay in the community. Why do you think jobs are leaving the community? ...that's right, government!!!"

Jct: You're not being asked to support local business which should always be that way but isn't because the large box stores can usually undercut local prices, you're being asked to support a mechanism that keeps jobs in the community, a mechanism that promotes what's so hard to do against big competition. Getting organized locally to help the local is better than getting enthusiastic about helping local but not being able to.

"It's okay for the currency to be printed locally. By the time inflation kicks into overdrive the U.S. Dollar will only be worth pennies due to spending more money than the United States actually has."

Jct: Adding chips to the game doesn't cause inflation if the chips are backed up by new collateral in the cage. Issuing new money isn't inflationary if it's backed up like poker chips. Besides, consider that inflation can not only be more money chasing the goods, Shift A, or less goods after foreclosure being chased by the same money, Shift B.See my video on "Shift B inflation".
