Sounds like you will have no problem making it to Friday!

I got home from visiting my parents at the beach and Brett filled in me in on how well he handled everything at home. I did come home to a clean house and empty laundry bins. I did have to burst his bubble a little bit though and remind him that I had the kids with me the whole time and he only had to clean up after himself. :)

I helped my parents re-roof their house when I was a teenager and we all had so much fun. I was glad that they let me help, despite being thirteen and a girl. I still can't hear Loyd Cole music without picturing myself up on the hot roof with my brothers, brother-in-law, dad, and uncles.

Good post. Working together is such a good bonding experience.

One question. What is a cassette tape? ;)

One of my favorite books and one of my favorite authors. Kate DiCamillo is a fantastic story teller.

I love those moments too when we are forced to be disconnected from the electronic world and connected to our family. I could use a little power outage here now that I think about it!

I love your stories! What you are doing is worth far more than riches.

I have had times that I get frustrated with the time that Brett spends on his blog and I start sulking about it. But when I read through his old posts or see my kids laughing about something he wrote I am reminded of the value that these stores will have to our family for years to come. They are truly priceless.

Really enjoyed this! It made me think about what my "best" list would include...hmmm...maybe I will actually blog this week!

This sounds like the thoughts in my head as I read through posts from Google Reader. I have learned much and been inspired over and over reading blogs....and also felt a lot of guilt and felt more and more inadequate.

Your blog is definitely on the "inspiring" list and that is because you don't portray a perfect life all the time. You have a great balance of the good and not so good in life. One of the few blogs that seem completely genuine.

Like JaeJay, I am not a morning person in the slightest! I can go to bed at 10pm and I will still have a hard time getting up. I have to get up to get kids up and ready for school and it is hard. Every. Single. Day.

My grandparents and my parents were so good at this kind of service. Thank you for the reminder that I need to step it up in that area! That is so good for your boys to be involved with.

I am a people watcher too. I love to sit on a park or mall bench and watch people pass by. Sometimes I get a good story out of it!

Thanks for causing some of those tears in MY eyes! You sound like a great dad and I think it is neat that you show your emotions. I wish more men would!
