The FAA Follies : None Nine in a Million

eligible7_19_10...yes, and some BUMs actually wore the thing to work. I wouldn't even use it to mow my lawn. I believe mine found its way to the Goodwill dropoff.

The FAA Follies : FLMs versus Controllers

"Now, the CIC position definitely involves greater responsibility" To say that is to say that FLM's have a more difficult and responsible job. I know what you're saying but I have a difficult time agreeing with you. What can be more responsible than actually being in the sector working traffic? All too often we've got FLM's surfing the net at the supe's desk in the area while I'm in the sector doing the real work of ATC. If what they do actually requires more responsibility I seriously doubt that many of them would be there considering that most of them took supe's jobs to escape the responsibilities involved with separating aircraft. A CIC working traffic would be something entirely different and yes, there would be added responsibility.
