Capital punishment aside, I find it rather un-enlightening that yet another self-proclaimed liberal feels that she is qualified to offer her "intellectually superior" commentary regarding political opponents with which she already does not agree. I knew what she was going to say before she opened her mouth, and thus her "contribution" to public discourse was entirely worthless.

I'd be interested to see what these figures would look like if all sciences were omitted from the data. Research and publications are paramount to scientific research and VERY time-consuming. Further, they contribute to educational productivity through the graduate programs, providing the capstone projects necessary for students to receive graduate degrees in many fields.
