ZING! What a great advice for married folks to heed! For parents! I think we have a generation of kids whose parents were too afraid to hurt their child's psyche so withheld the discipline they needed.

NO! We are tough!.God made us strong. We. Can. Handle. It.

This is one of those lessons I'm going to ponder in my heart for awhile. Thanks for posting it.

You wear pajamas? :-)

Whenever I read all the cool things you get to do in Nashville, I have to work on not being jealous. Rural Indiana doesn't offer such cool things.

As a musician, I could totally relate to this article. It reminds me of the Psalms and how David's music was used by God to calm Saul.

Excellent information. I have included it in my article: "Is iPad too cool for your homeschool?" URL: http://tiny.cc/iPadhomeschool

Thanks for the great info!

I needed this! As a 48 year old Mom, Grandma and writer, I need to know that it's okay to keep on like the tortoise toward my dreams! Sometimes the old enemy likes to whisper in my ear that it's taking too long, or that I need to just give up because I'm too old and I'm just wasting my time. But God gives me the grace to keep on one day at a time, one word at a time. I loved this post!

Excellent! This is so true -- things begin and end with God. Period. I also like the point that we need other mentors in our kids' lives. That was a mistake we made with our oldest son -- he really didn't have enough outside mentors outside of his dad and I. (We homeschooled and are a pastor's family.) Looking back, I wish there would have been more men who would have taken an interest in our son but we just didn't have any in our lives at the time. Still, we did the best we could. He is in God's hands! And God is faithful! Even God, a perfect Father, had children who rebelled. We must remember that our children have their own will and it's by the grace of God they serve Him.

I'd love to have a copy. It sounds just like something that would help my husband and I as we lead our congregation in rural Indiana! Thanks for this post!

I don't know that I'm happier or unhappier. I think I'm surprised to find myself where I am. This might sound strange, but I really thought Jesus would be back before I became a grandma, so I am really, really kind of shocked to find myself in the grandma place! I never expected it. (I am 48 years old.) As for the women's movement making changes, I think it also created a lot of role confusion. Couple that with what some of the more conservative Christian movements preach, and you really have some chaos in the hearts of women. I was raised by a father who never, ever limited me as a woman. He never told me there was anything I couldn't do. He expected me to go to college and was rather surprised when I became a mostly stay at home mom who homeschooled her kids (out of necessity).

As for the new Buckingham book -- I am eager to read it! I can hardly wait! I love Marcus Buckingham materials and am looking forward to learning more from him.

I did go to his website and I took the test. I don't know if I agree with it completely but in some ways it is spot on. So I am eager to read the book and learn more about what it means.

Thomas Nelson is becoming my favorite publisher. Before I became a review blogger I had no idea of the depth and width of the books they offer the public. I am impressed and am excited about what's coming next! Thanks, Michael Hyatt!

I have never done the DWT but thata's only because I can't see my phone's script without glasses (I don't need glasses to drive, just to read). Thanks for the reminder and I twittered and tumbled this blog. I hope it saves lives.
