Government owned and run everything might seem like the answer to some people but have they taken into account what happens when the workers strike? Having lived in a country where all garbage collectors, mass transit workers, car dealers/repairs, gas stations, even hospitals are closed for months on end until a deal is reached is unbearable; the entire country is at a halt. Some "scab" doctors/dentists and other businesses remain open to long lines and elevated prices--hopefully they are closeby. While our unions are currently being handled, how long before this naturally advisarial relationship goes bad and this becomes our reality?
And do the states step in or do the Feds snap the whip? Is the Fed in charge of all 50 states making states' government irrelevent? Are we the people left to vote only every 4-6 years for our national elected?

How is it that under the person who promised a new age of unity we now have more labels that ever? Accusatory, all-encompassing and final judgements flung carelessly about by Robert Gibbs and the media alike. It makes me wonder how this push to become "the collective" is possible when our differences are so often highlighted and made a source of contention by the very same man who touted "unity".
The division of we the people is complete. We are either self-governing, independent and self-sufficient or we are feuding amongst ourselves for the title of "most downtrodden" thereby proving our worthiness for elevation. And there is no effort to bridge the divide. Why not? The united do not fall.

When President Bush W. was attempting social security reform, there were posses who organized, traveled by bus, and protested at every town hall meeting never once asking pertinent questions for their purpose was to stonewall the effort. It worked. The media reported it as mass outcry from the people despite the fact no details of the plan were provided to show why "the people" were "outraged".
Now, specific questions are being asked about total health care reform, generic, uninformed responses are given and the people are calling the politicos on their ignorance, their frustration is clear. This is being labeled by Robert Gibbs and the media as "manufactured outrage" by posses who organized, traveled by bus, and protest at every town hall meeting. Huh.

There has been almost no media coverage or mention of Lisa Ling and Euna Lee by the administration. The focus has been on Hillary's diplomatic surge which included an embarassing verbal exchange with Kim Jong Il. Suddenly, Bill swoops in and saves the day by giving much desired credibility to North Korea and promising who knows what in exchange for Al Gore's imprisoned reporters.
Please understand, I am delighted the women are returning home as I type this, but I must wonder what ransom was paid for their release. It is becoming a lucrative trade to hold Americans prisoner, a thing we haven't seen in many years. It is a shame, in this time of "unity" it rears its ugly head again.

A filibuster? Now. Where was this when we the people were screaming for "nay" votes on TARP, the "stimulus" and omnibus?
Our elected can hardly expect us to applaud this useless show over a "mere" $2,000,000,000 more when they could have saved us more than $23,000,000,000,000 for programs we neither want nor need.
How about we stop paying for your benefits/pension and wardrobes? These should be paid for by your chosen careers. The lunches, transportation, and other write-offs have to go and what need have you for annual raises? A humble public servant's wage and per diem which supplements your job's annual salary is sufficient. If this seems harsh, we can simply relieve you of the many duties and responsibilities you have taken on over the years and return them to the states leaving you to simply watch over defense of our great country.
We can do this from the bottom up, as our system is designed to do.

When the national medical programs were launched in England and Europe the doctors who refused to participate were heroes to the people. Soon enough they were eaten up by the machine as access to medicines, medical equipment/ advancements made their ability to practice impossible without participation.
Our elected blame every industry for making our medical system ineffective and expensive yet the media fails to pose the question of them why they still prefer it to the plan they will mandate for we the people.

Perspective. Our youth are taught and encouraged to concentrate on what divides them rather than what unites us as a country. They are too young to remember when legal immigrants chose to assimilate because they were proud to be Americans or when all of our "ethnic" neighborhoods were intergrated in the name of "banishing racial barriers". The result is hyphenate Americans and cries for multi-cultural diversity and sensitivity. This desire to micro-manage the lives of everyone else has caused the neglect of their own so they then rely upon Great Government to police them and theirs.
What no one demands are good manners and respect for laws of the land, traditions, customs. Self-governing is what makes strong communities because it demands action and effort on the part of each individual within. When properly occupied with our own home there is no time or desire to be offended by the lifestyles of others. Nor do we "feel" our ideals should be imposed upon all, our homes and lives fulfill those unmet needs.

So not only do the police "act stupidly" but now the lesson is to sue them if you don't agree their actions...funny how "unnecessary" lawsuits are the bane of health care but encouraged in law enforcement. No money taxpayer wasted there...
This is what happens when we elect lawyers to run our country. They are the only profession not subject to scrutiny or vilification.

I commend every officer for publicly speaking out on Sgt. Crowley's behalf. This takes bravery and courage knowing that they can be viewed as either "Uncle Toms" or "backing with their own".
It is a good thing for Mr. Gates the responding officers didn't automatically stick to the first version of events presented to them and took the time to investigate this call; we see how damaging and dangerous it is to make assumptions and jump to conclusions. Especially when they are backed by the president.
They make fools of us all. Across the entire "global community".

Eugenics has nothing to do with personal responsibility but is somehow the solution. This cannot be accomplished currently without obvious selective enforcement so it must become part of the "new and improved" government national medical plan.
Redistributive "health" is an interesting thought.
Too bad most of our junkfood and fast food are staples of the economy who employ millions but they are "evil" and the next to be destroyed. For the greater good.
Soon street drug dealers will be the only capitalists left.
