Eastbound & Down is going to be completely standalone every season, so that also isn't going to get cut short. HBO has a bright future as far as I can tell. They're doing a show about the Oakland slums (Gentlemen of Leisure), one that involves Scorsese (Boardwalk Empire), One involving medieval fantasy (Game of Thrones), & David Simon has a few shows that might get picked up, as well. I would probably be more enthusiastic about Showtime if they didn't accept TV shows like US of Tara to be attached to their network, but that's a different story.
