Drug & Alcohol Testing after a accident is Automatic by DOT & Insurance Co. Rules to make of just that ? and if something of this nature happens they had would of had a B.A.T. & more done on scene by the LEO's ?? Heck even a Simple Accident Drivers are Shutdown for testing as it's Required to be done within so many hrs after it happens... my company has its policy if any driver had and accident or something like this even if its not there fault... they are pulled from the road another driver comes to collect the rig, management takes the driver to/from the testing site and the driver is put on non-paid time off till the results come back... Well here soon, the pipe line will go offline for maintenance too and its done around the same time each year.. just as refinery's are done even though @ different times of the year... Nothing New about this... the only difference is what the market trader(s) & speculator(s) do/say that influence the fuel prices &/or barrel prices.. its not a STOCK... its a COMMODITY... stop these 2 groups, leave it as what it is a "Commodity" and then it will change... or at least have a chance to level out.. Also the different blends is not only on the West Coast.... Colorado has 1 blend in winter RVP version & in Summer they have 2 different RVP versions when we load it out of the rack.. and it depends on where we are taking it as to what RVP you will get.. because of altitude and air quality reasons there... as do many other states... some have up to 4 different blends depending on the area... lol here is a link to info if you would like to read: http://www.colorado.gov/cs/Satellite/CDLE-OilPubl... Not true... Was it defined as a rural area or a livestock range area ? cause if its rural then they could & if its a Livestock Range area... then Nope.. they cannot look, into it... had a friend who's horse got out on SR 510 in mckenna and a guy in a f150 hit her horse but since it was a live stock area they guy had to deal with his insurance & she had to deal with the vet bill since it was labeled a live stock area... so to say you are responsible no-matter where is wrong... look it up in RCW's just wanted to let you know.. Back up Alarm would not of prevented this... the only thing that may have helped would have been a backup camera to see what was behind the trailer... but most trucks that are newer are equipped /w backup beeper/buzzer but that would may have not helped with this type of situation as a blind person because they can hear it does not always mean they can tell what direction it is coming from when the buzzer/alarm is normally mounted on the truck and not the trailer... don't mean to pick on you just wanted to let you know a little information from someone who drives truck... have you looked into the rules for a CDL driver.. ? it is more strict than you're PDL you hold... and if you blow a positive test on a BAT.. Well Thanks, I was not being abrasive... I am tired of Armchair QB's thinking they know everything.. all i wanted to do was post info to help them with learning of something that i know most do not know about Since i do this everyday for work. Hey to help you in the mathematical Endeavor's here's a site that will help you before you open you're mouth about somthing most people in general have very little knowledge about.... http://www.thecalculatorsite.com/conversions/weig... when gas/diesel is calculated for a B.O.L. ( Bill Of Lading ) @ the Rack.... Gas is Adjusted for Temp of 60 Degree's when Calculating Gallons... Temp is still higher than Outside Temp when its cold or freezing out as its in Big tanks that you you're self could never use in a year.... then its pumped to the trucks which heats the fuel up... why when its snowing or icy do you think those tanks of those trucks just look wet ??? DUH.... just like a hot drink... it stays hot unless its low... but if its full will take a while before the temp even drops... Hope that little bit of info strives to help you learn more.... FYI Gas is always calculated @ 60 Degrees F. so if you're ever interested to look it up so you know what it weighs when you're in your car/truck you can use the calc. @ this website: http://www.thecalculatorsite.com/conversions/weig... but to let you know if it was loaded as the story you read @ 7000 Gallons the Gas would of weighed @ 23,000 +/- LBS & the Trailer Weight empty would be around about 24,000 +/- LBS Totaling 47,000 LBS +/-. your weight amount is incorrect, as i drive one of these myself for another company... we are licensed for 105,500 LBS, and the truck's are set for 56,000 roughly so do the math... since the trailer is less weight then the truck... along with High Center of Gravity and the capacity for the trailer would be wrong in the story's also... as most only carry 6,400 to 6,800 gallons max otherwise it exceeds GVWR @ 7,000 gallons the only way you get 7,000 is the total capacity of the trailer and not thinking weight ratings... Also as they are NOT fully maxed out.. there is SLOSH room... when that happens with any side to side & or front to back motion it can tip/roll it... why do you think when you are driving behind one that it slows down on a curved road/on-off ramp ??? they never get these story's correct when fuel trucks are involved...
