We're kind of big on that. Temple attendance isn't church attendance, Nick. No one keeps track of how often you go to the temple but you and the Lord, so no one's going to call you out for it. Church services are open to anyone, tithe-payer or not, member or not, all are welcome.

Not true-there are MANY of us who are fed up with unions exactly because they are no longer fighting for our students. The UFT and organizations like them are corrupt, and a disgrace to the profession. And believe it or not, plenty of us understood when we we decided to become teachers that we wouldn't be making a lot of money, and we're okay with that. We don't need or want unions to negotiate our salaries-we just hope for a little support for what we do.

I'm a teacher, and I and many of my coworkers get completely bent out of shape over stuff like this. I live in a pretty conservative state though, and that kind of practice doesn't seem to go on as much because the parents here would run such Marxism-pushers out of town pretty quickly. And that's the key here: parents need to be involved. Ask your kids what they're learning in their classes, read over any disclosure documents get sent home, ask questions of the teachers if any come up, heck-go observe classes if you have time. If you find any evidence of leftist doctrine (or any doctrine, for that matter) being pushed, make a stink. Let the administration know it will not stand. Parents around here, when roused and organized, tend to make things happen.

Don't generalize based on Wisconsin (or elsewhere . . .) Many of us do try to give our student the tools to think critically and then come to their own conclusions. Sadly, there are also many who are union tools (meaning, they don't give a rip about education beyond extorting a bigger paycheck and pushing an "I'm unsure that my beliefs really mean anything, so I'll inflict them on kids to shore up my sense of self" curriculum). With some vigilance, it's not hard to tell who's who. Please support those of us who care, or all you've got left is, well, left.
