This is already in pdf format and for sale for $9.95. I would think that the total cost of putting that on line is pretty low considering it already exists in pdf.
As far as I can remember his mother, Madalyn Murray O'Hair was also very anti-gay. She was generally a nasty and unpleasant person and I don't see the acorn falling far from the tree.
Well, just because it's true doesn't mean he should have said it.
Joe: Don't project onto me. Where did I say anything about forcing Baptists to do anything? Nowhere, that's where. I graduated a Baptist high school and went to a Baptist Bible college and yes, I left that church quite happily when I became an adult. What I mentioned was that Baptists don't leave everyone else alone, they don't mind their own business. I know them very well and they are addicted to meddling. Not only do they go door to door annoying people, but the Southern Baptists supported slavery—hardly minding your own business. They support federal legislation to impose their theological views about how people should live on the rest of the country. Here's how I see it. Equal rights for everyone, including Baptists. The state should only protect our basic rights of life, liberty and property, and beyond that no one should lobby the state to impose morality on others (such as the Moral Majority did)
Gee, doesn't this mean if we put a sign on our door "gay people welcome" that the Baptists will leave us alone? I sure hope so. There is a reason Southern Baptists have been losing members. I know they are absolutely sure as to what the Bible said. But then, when they were formed they were absolutely sure it condoned slavery as well. They never learn, but then they are opposed to learning.
Weyrich is a two-bit bureaucrat trying to make a name for himself. He should backdown and shut up. He is just seeking publicity for himself.
If the evidence is so strong why were the signers so heavily weighted from specifically religiously-based schools? Real evidence isn't only shared by people mostly with a particularly conservative religious bent. It is noticed by lots of people, religious or not. Oh, of course, there is a larger acceptance of a view on this, from a broader group of people, but it holds the opposite view.
That's why I think God should be stopped from allowing fathers to die, or mothers. We are all better off with "perfect" situations which doesn't mean we always have those options. Is it better for a kid to have no parents than to have two fathers or two mothers? The fact is that a lot of the children that gay couples adopt have sat unwanted by others. Of course, none of the adoption issue revolves around marriage. But, lets allow the perfect to be the enemy of the good!
Votes aren't horse races where bet on a winner. You state your beliefs and what you want. If neither of the two bigger parties want to provide that, then tough for them. This is especially true for Obama who vastly increased the deportations of people over Bush, who ramped up the war in Afghanistan, who raided four times as many medical marijuana clinics as Bush, who institute a "kill list" where the president picks people to assassinate, including American citizens, without due process, who is defending warrantless searches in the Supreme Court at this time.... You may think these are minor flaws. They are major failures. Obama doesn't deserve votes.
Families include gay people and gay people form families. What we need is small government allowing people to form their own marriage contracts. Deregulate marriage so any two adults can enter the contract, as they can with any other contract. Reduce federal dominance in violation of federalist principles, by repealing DOMA and end the regulatory costs of DOMA for private companies.
It's time to limit government, not expand the federal role for someone's religious agenda.
