It's probably to ensure that the illegals have enough healthy snacks and water to make it into the US. I doubt the troops will be given any more than humanitarian powers. Maybe some Medals of Honor to be won down there!
This is just a ploy to appear as if he is doing something as leverage for amnesty (I mean "comprehensive reform").
As a free country, I believe in property rights and am not offended by a mosque anywhere it is legally built. What I am offended by is that Ground Zero has languished undeveloped for almost 10 years because of petty political bickering. It's a national disgrace.
How about if we start trying these corrupt government officials for treason. Siding with illegal immigrants over legal American citizens amounts to as much. How about we make it a federal crime to spend one penny of taxpayer money on supporting, aiding or abetting illegal immigrants.
Treason: 1. Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one's country by waging war against it or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies.
2. A betrayal of trust or confidence.
It took two autobiographies for Obama (Ayers), to create a history for himself. I'm sure this one will be just an attempt to tie up the myriad of unexplainable loose ends. As the above poster suggested, intellectual elites circling the wagons and running cover; dictating to the masses, unequivocally, that 2+2=5.
I really wish that Republican would stop relinquishing America's civil rights history to the Democrats. The Republican Party has a proud history in this arena. Civil right s equals individual rights, not group rights of a particular collective. MLK, who was a Republican, demanded rights for blacks as individuals, not as a group.
I don't think Michael Steele is forceful enough in his defense of the party on this issue.
One of the main reasons immigrants come to the US is to escape corruption trumping the rule of law in their home countries. Yet, they expect and openly call for that same corruption to prevail here on their behalf. Illegal is illegal. Period!
If liberals are threatening to boycott AZ, does that mean they will boycott the welfare rolls and emergency rooms too? That's great news! Wish my state had this law!
I guess enforcing the law is just too damned expensive. Ironic that the pro-illegal immigrant community is bringing the same type of lawless corruption to the US that they were trying to escape in Mexico. Any elected official that sides with illegal aliens over taxpaying US citizens ought to be arrested for treason.
Why is it that still not a single major media organization has reported that the "celebrity-seeking couple" that crashed the WH dinner had ties to the American Task Force on Palestine and that the information on Salahi was scrubbed from the ATFP's website within 12 hours of the story breaking?
